De Bruyne?

Just my opinion but I think de bruyne might be worrried hes gonna go from playing every game to squad rotation

'Not needing to sell' doesn't mean a club won't sell. It means they can command a higher price, that's all.
Football clubs are a business, there's no real sentiment here. They aren't being asked to sell a wedding ring to something, players are commodities.
If a club really NEED to sell, it puts them in a weak position, and the player's price goes down. If they don't need to sell. they can afford to hold out for more money. Holding out for more money just means the tipping point (where they WILL sell) is higher.

There's not a board in the world who'd not sell a player for the right price. They'd not be doing their job if they did, and in some cases could land themselves in legal trouble if they didn't sell!. Ultimately, it's never about what's best for the football, it's what's best for the business (even though the two are interlinked, the business always takes precedence).

Think it's got to stage where KDB needs to say something in terms of wanting to move - or we need to move on.

Sky Sport Germany is no good source. Anyone who can add one and one will see it.

Facts:
- Kevin said he would not know where he will play next season
- His agent said it is up to the clubs to find an agreement, so Kevin surely already had agreed to join us long ago
- His agent also said they don't move till they receive a call, what one again makes you think we have cleared personal terms long ago

And now Kevin will decide if he wants to leave?! It's really shocking how easy one can become a journalist.

As for squad rotation, it's unlikely to happen to any serious degree at that price, although he might have to sit out SOME cup games etc, which you'd expect.
If he's worried about rotation with us, then that would apply at Bayern, Barca or Real too.
Ultimately, if he turned out to be a flop, yes, he'd be dropped. Every player knows that though.

I swear to God every time I read this I nearly have an aneurism.
Did United need £80m for Ronaldo? No.
Does any Premier League club ever need to sell? No. Tottenham financially could have kept Modric and Bale. Liverpool didn't need to sell Suarez.

Why do people keep saying they don't need the money? It is doing my head in big time.

BluePhil8....It's not just about saying they dont need the money......it just means they have "one less reason" to sell the player! The big question is, if De Bruyne is not willing to push for a move, are we willing to offer enough to "give" them another reason to sell? Are we willing to make them an offer they cant refuse?....If De Bruyne sits down and says he wants to join us then 50mil could be enough to get the deal done...Are we willing to offer 57mil-60mil to give Wolfsburg a reason to sell if De Bruyne says he happy to stay with Wolfsburg?? Their financial situation does make an impact in talks.....as it impacts what they need or willing to accept in these negotiations.

Personally I think that players who worry about playing time/squad rotation are those who lack confidence in their own ability. KDB has already shown he has self confidence by not being willing to be a bit part player for Mourinho by moving to Wolfsburg because he thought he WAS good enough to play for Chelsea despite Mourinho's comments to the contrary.

This is completely different to Johnson, Sinclair, Rodwell and Richards who have mostly gone on to prove our various managers assertions that they simply weren't good enough for a first team place in a team with ambitions to play at the very highest level of football. Think about it for a second, all four of those players seem to have found their levels playing with mid-bottom of the table Premier League teams. Not one of them is an England regular nor are any of them being pursued by any big clubs.

They're the types of players who are worried about playing time at bug clubs, not the likes of KDB imo...........

All of those players (maybe not Bale) forced a move. Those clubs didn't need to sell and would have been quite happy to keep those players.
