Neither City nor Wolfsburg have any reason to be transparent in their public utterances. They're both hundred million pound businesses and both sides will only be interested in one thing. Getting the best deal possible. Neither will care what the public perception is.

Why didn't we just demand he put in a transfer request? We could pay his loyalty bonus (it's cheap due to being in euros anyway) and take away any excuse he has not to demand a transfer.

If his representatives weren't listening to all offers they should be sacked for not doing what they're employed to do.

If his representatives are listening to other offers after being locked in negotiations with us for two months, and as his agent has clarified that we won't "go on war" with Wolfsburg, clearly suggests he is not that much intereseted in joining us. He is settled at Wolfsburg and will join Bayern next season.

If those things are insurmountable then it wouldn't make sense for either club to still be continiuing with this, so it stands to reason it's very close.

Not you but to those who keep moaning about how DeBruyne should hand in a transfer request.

1) He most likely thinks he will get a huge move at some point whatever.
2) If he did, ask, would City promise to pay any amount of money to make sure he isn't left stranded at Wolfsburg seen as a traitor by their fans ? (Ans: would City fuck do that, so why should he ?)
3)Wolfsburg rebuilt him after Mourinho & their fans have backed him & treated him as a hero. Are you people who expect him just to shit on them, the kind of people who behave like that in your lives? If you are, you are shitbags & I wouldn't trust you as far as I could fucking throw you.
