Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that both Mario Gotze and Thomas Muller will stay at the club this summer, while he has also revealed that Bayern will not sign Kevin de Bruyne from Wolfsburg.
Sky Sports report that Bayern aren't in the race for the Belgian despite being mentioned with a move for him several times in the last few weeks, even while it still stands that Manchester City have made a £47m approach for the former Chelsea player.
Muller and Gotze meanwhile have been subject to speculation over a Bayern exit for most of the summer. Muller has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United - and to link up with former boss Louis van Gaal - though any United advances were shunned by the German champions.
Having already offloaded Bastian Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford, Bayern officials have confirmed that Muller - nor any other player - would follow him.
Doubt though has been cast over the future of Gotze, who has been linked with United and more specifically Arsenal in recent weeks. However, Guardiola has told a press conference that neither player will be leaving this summer, and that Bayern will not put up the money to sign De Bruyne either.
He said: "Mario (Gotze) stays, Thomas (Muller) stays.
Kevin De Bruyne is not coming. I knew that two weeks ago."
The Bundesliga champions take on Hamburg in the opening game of the season on Friday night, and Guardiola has indicated he is looking for his team to make a fast start. They are expected to be pushed closer by the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Wolfsburg throughout the new campaign.
He added: "When you win, you don't just get three points, but also self-confidence. I'm satisfied and motivated. We have to play as well as we can for the fans."
