De Bruyne?

I really hope we get it done soon, the season is 8 days away and we look really unprepared.

I think thats everyone's problem mate. Kaldhoon promised world class, swift and decisive moves in the market and we would have a great preseason and be ready to get off to a flier in the league!

It would be very boring if everyone had the same opinion.

Let people on this forum believe Delph is the answer to city's midfield problems because when he's getting run rings around by the worlds best midfield players in the champs league, it won't be me who will be crying, it will be them. Your being realistic, nothing wrong with that.
You won't be fucking there, unlike the rest of us

We all love and support City til the very end, but some fans have a more positive outlook, some fans have a more negative outlook. Then there's people who have their blue tinted specs on and think every decision the club makes is the right one, then there are others who don't agree with decisions and have more of a realistic view on things. That's football, that's football fans. Most fans would be kidding themselves if they think City don't need a new left back and a central midfielder for sure.

Some fans want to always remain positive and happy just to show to people that they are more of a city fan than others are.

I think we need Pogba badly, and I don't know that we need De Bruyne at all. I don't know whether we'll get either.

I am not calling other posters "blue-tinted morons" for thinking differently about (a) our needs or (b) the outcome of of efforts to obtain these players.

We all love and support City till the very end, you say, but then you offer the term "blue-tinted specs" for those who agree with the club's decisions vs. "realistic" fans who don't.

How about those who have no idea how the decisions will turn out, agree with some, disagree with others, and are happy just for the season to start so we can find out? Is that okay with you or should we all be consigned to the bin of the "blue-tinted spec" wearers also?

nuff already
all of ya

They've probably had half the staff on overtime for the last two months, if only they'd asked Bernarbia, would have saved them a fortune, still poached haddock, hollandaise sauce and a poached egg for breacky so I'm happy :)

Miserable fucker would probably have been happy to deny them the overtime cash as well.

Bullshit. That's not the issue. Everyone's entitled to his/her own perspective.

The issue is when those of a negative persuasion have decided that being right is more important than supporting the side -- to WHATEVER end.

And when said negative-perspective-holding fan calls another a "blue-tinted moron" then that fan has crossed the line -- well, crossed MY line. He's no longer a fan of City. He's a fan of being right. Which means he's a fan of City failing.

I disagree.
Having a less positive outlook doesn't make anybody less of a City fan. The naturally optimistic folks see it as pessimism, whilst other see it as realism.
I love City, but I don't think we're perfect. I don't believe we're at the same level as Bayern, Barca and Real, and I don't think we're as appealing to join as those clubs.
I think we've come a long way, and we're light years ahead of where we once were, but we've still got a long way to go.
I don't believe we can get every player we want - no matter how much money we throw at them, as sometimes a player just doesn't want to move to us, and we have to accept that.
I'm not jumping up and down in joy at the coming season either - as I think it's going to be another tough season for us. City will get my full support as they always do, but I don't think I have to go to every game in blissful optimism. I get as nervous playing Newcastle as I do playing Chelsea - and perversely, that makes things exciting for me.
I never thought we'd get Pogba (but then I never thought we'd win the league again).

I understand how 'blue-tinted moron' can offend other fans, but nobody seems to mind name calling less optimistic supporters. City fans shouldn't be turning on each other, be they at either end of the positive - negative spectrum. I don't believe any blue is a fan of City failing - but I do believe some don't want to get overly optimistic only to be disappointed - so they set out their expectations accordingly.

I thought we spent months before the season ended planning these transfers?

The stuff that's happened with De Bruyne makes it seem like we made the first move this summer.

Not having a go here at all. Just would have liked players in before the start of the season but am confident we'll get them in before September.

To be fair, even in the Campus thread you're quite negative....

Yep, and I respect that big deals take longer, but it should really be done by now. Getting him in for a few weeks of pre season would have been vital.

Nope. Some people choose to read posts in a negative light.
If I say we have a fantastic expansion, but the corners are compromised until we expand the CB and East Stands, or I say I think we'll improve the exterior once ALL the expansion work is complete - you have a choice of how to interpret that.
If everything was perfect, there'd be no need to ever progress.

Get a fucking grip. We've signed Mangala, who was a hugely sought after defender, Jovetic, who again was hugely rated, we've took Nasri, Sagna off Arsenal, and are now currently trying to sign the best player in the Bundesliga.

I disagree.

Fully agree with FC- you can question things without being any less of a fan!!!

Negative twat.

Khaldoon can promise many things, but until a player signs on the dotted line, nothing is ever certain.
Of course he's going to say we're aiming for the world's best players (and I'm sure we are). Getting them is another matter, and no club in the world gets every player they would like. The problem now is that fans have got themselves hyped up over Pogba, and if we don't get him, they'll deem it a transfer failure.
Many of the poster moaning about 'pessimists' will be the same ones calling for Txiki's head, or slagging off the manager because we didn't get him - as if the only possible reason not to land him is their 'failure' - completely forgetting Juventus / the player / the costs.

Well said. Word for word, that's how I am as a Blue.
