This season De Bruyne has over twice the amount of goals than sterling and over 3x the amount of assists. He was also key to them beating bayern 4-1 whereas sterling chooses to go missing in big games but then again why let a small matter of facts get in the way of a good story lets go for that massively overrated lad just because he's English.
Where are you getting these stats???
De Bruyne in 30 league appearances this season, has scored 10 goals and made 18 assists.
Sterling in 31 league appearances this season, has scored 7 goals and made 7 assists.
Yeah De Bruyne's assists are significantly better and his goal record is slightly better but that's in a second-place team in the Bundesliga as opposed to a fifth-place team in the Premier League. Also, Sterling's lack of assists isn't necessarily indicative of his failings but Liverpool's lack of a consistent goalscoring striker (Sturridge has had a long-term injury and Balotelli/Lambert/Borini haven't performed).
All things considered, De Bruyne's record is a bit better than Sterling's this season. But the season before Sterling scored and assisted more. Remembering again that Sterling is 20 while De Bruyne turns 24 in a month, it's pretty obvious on net who's the better signing.
