De Bruyne?

There were some doubts on him willing to move to the UK, saying he preferred to stay in Germany. Reassuring stuff:

Kevin De Bruyne’s agent has insisted the Belgium midfielder’s future remains undecided despite reports that he is set to join Bayern Munich for around £45m, with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City among the clubs still interested in signing him from Wolfsburg.

De Bruyne, who moved to Germany from Chelsea for £18m in January 2014, has enjoyed a superb season, guiding Wolfsburg to second place in the Bundesliga and the quarter-finals of the Europa League. The 23-year-old has racked up 15 goals and an astonishing 22 assists so far and could be in contention to win Germany’s player of the year award.

After he masterminded the 4-1 thrashing of Pep Guardiola’s side at the end of January, Bayern are considered favourites to sign De Bruyne in the summer. However his agent Patrick De Koster says it is too early for any decision to be made.

“For the moment, there are no formal discussions. Of course in the next few weeks I will be going around the world to talk about the situation with Kevin but this is just informal information,” he said.

“I will talk to everybody but Kevin is very, very happy with Wolfsburg and the way they have treated him since he arrived from Chelsea last year. There are still five games to play and hopefully they can make sure of a place in the Champions League next season so it is a little bit too early to be making any decisions. He has a four-year contract at Wolfsburg so we will have to see what they want to do.”

After their struggle to retain their Premier League title with an aging squad this season, De Bruyne fits the profile wanted by City in their drive to lower the age of the squad. De Koster admitted that he has held discussions with Txiki Begiristain, City’s director of football, but denied any contact with Manchester United.

“I have met the people from Manchester City and we know each other,” he said. “I’ve never spoken to anyone from Manchester United but a lot of other clubs have been in touch to find out some general information.

“I think with the season Kevin has had if we didn’t have these questions then there would be something wrong. I saw [Mino] Raiola’s quotes about taking 20 phone calls a day regarding Paul Pogba and it’s the same situation for me and probably for the agent of Memphis Depay at the moment.”

Asked how much it may cost to prise De Bruyne away from Wolfsburg, De Koster added: “I don’t know. Wolfsburg paid €24m to Chelsea so I can see it being a lot more than that.”

Good interview by the agent, shows a bit of class there. Especially when compared to Yaya's agent!

I think this move will happen this summer, if Txiki has met with De Bruyne's agent we're obviously were interested.

Wolfsburg signed De Bruyne for €24 million - we'll give you $48 million (£35 million) for him. Double your money. Done deal.

Good old Bayern, lose 4-1 to a team one season so just try and financially out muscle them and take their best player next season. I agree with UEFA, that's how to run a football club the right way.

Well in Germany u not only have FFP also u have a 50+1 rule who forbids owners completly.

Or why do u think berlin and hamburg doesnt have that much money?

Apparently in talks with PSG

His agent has only said the same about PSG as he did about City... been in contact, club interested. He'll want a bidding war between City and PSG (and possibly Bayern if their interest is real).

This comment screams "I want my cut!".

"A player like Kevin is worth €50m (£35m) to €60m (£42m) in today's market. Clubs that say they are willing to pay €30m (£21m) for Kevin are not in touch with reality."

De Bruyne is a good player but not the kind of world-class signing we need this summer. We can't repeat the same mistakes made in previous windows where we buy players who add to our squad but don't elevate our team to the next level like Pogba, Bale or Koke could.

I disagree, De Bruyne's delivery into the box is definitely world class and he has over 20 assists to prove so.

His all round game and work rate needs to improve but in one or two years time he will definitely be world class.

Koke or Pogba are central midfielders anyway, De Bruyne is an attacker.

Forget Bale, he will be at Madrid next season because he is a Perez favourite, plus even if he was to go he would be rag bound.

We wouldn't pay 80m-100m for him when we need to rebuild the bigger picture.

De Bruyne's delivery is excellent but 20 assists in one season in the Bundesliga is not enough to show that he can be a star player in a team that wants to win not only the title but progress to the final few teams in the CL.

Reus is world-class and could be available particularly now Klopp is leaving. Sterling is also a better bet than De Bruyne because he's already got more flair and speed than him even though he's three and a half years younger.
