Did you see the wolfsburg director of football in his interview?
Said something along the lines of they hope to persuade de bruyne to stay.
Have to disagree with that bit, mate. He has the best range of passing at the club and I expect his pass completion rate compares with anyone's.As good as Toure is, I don't think that's his best position. He quite often gets caught in possession or makes a stray pass. When he runs from deep, it looks impressive when it comes off. When it doesn't, it leaves us exposed. That was part of our downfall last season. He obviously prefers to be further up the pitch to create the most damage. I feel that's where he is most effective. He has a good touch for such a big unit, his shooting with either foot is good and is a quality dead ball specialist.
Delph and Fernandinho will be the 2 first choice holding players at the moment. Pogba is an upgrade on both.
De Bruyne isn't an upgrade on Toure, Silva or Sterling.
The whole idea was only to get players who were better than what was already in place.

Erm no he wasn't. ...he wasn't going to say that ''yes he will join man city'' is he??
Will be wrapped up next week I reckon.
Hi mate the interview was interesting, he had an opportunity to put the kdb saga to bed but he didn't which says we've got the ball to roll and we're making progress.Hi manimanc, didnt see the interview but saw someone comment about it on this thread....I agree tho, this isnt a done deal yet......
I am totally with you on this with the bullish way our chairman was in interview ,I fully expected us to be more direct and conclusive with two weeks to go I thought we would have it all wrapped up which would have benefited the manager and perhaps lowered the traffic on BM guess even having the readies doesn't necessary give you cart blanche to pick and chooseIf this supposed transfer was anywhere as close as the itks would have you believe for the past month, then he wouldn't be trotting out for Wolfsburg today and risking a Delph hamstring pull.
I find Citys transfer activity as a whole this summer a lot slower than we were led to believe it would be, and still failing to fill the gaping holes in quality and at left back that are glaringly obvious. Theres a hell of a lot of work to do if we are to challenge for the bigger pots, and the sight of this lad playing for Wolfsburg today doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that progress is being made.
