De Bruyne?

People might laugh but I think fernando is made for that role I think if we play him at the bottom of a 3 we will see a very good player who's been played in his best position!

I'm with you, if he's used properly, at the base of a 3 man midfield and has somebody like Dinho/Delph alongside him to provide added legs and pressure on the ball i think he'll be a valuable asset for us. There's better out there but i don't think you need to have somebody world class in that area if you use him correctly and partner him with the right kind of players. i.e not just with Yaya.

It probably would be to the benefit of Fernando but a massive detriment to the team. To accommodate a three we would have to lose an attacking player. I think the fact we have only three strikers currently and there is talk of Dzeko leaving highlights we will play a 4-2-3-1 next year if we capture De Bruyne. That in itself should make us more solid than when playing two out and out strikers. If

I think he can do it but he seems to be a yard of pace off where he needs to be imo. Yet there was a period last season where he seemed to have that pace. Whether he fits in to this City team or not, Fernando is not some kind of fucking mug, like some City fans are making him out to be.

I think he would be fine in a lot of decent teams. It's the wide open style we are trying to learn which is the problem. It's not easy at all.

Fernando is a horses for courses player in my opinion. And we really can't afford to start the season without him. Delph looks like he could be out, fernandinho probably won't be match fit and I can't see zuculini still being here at the start of the season. As much as I would love to see de bruyne and pogba I'm starting to think a left back is a vital signing.

Hi uwe, I'm no expert mate but my problem with Fernando is that he doesnt have the movement skill-set or the pace to close down..he seems to take bad angles and gets off balance very easy...he runs very straight line and struggles to man mark....He really needs a league where the build up play is slower.....Wish I had your confidence in him mate!;) I just feel we'll spend the whole season covering up the weak link when he's called apon to start and when you add Yaya's style of play and age......we are going to continue to struggle against the best sides in the prem and in the CL....

That's why he isn't suited to playing in a 2 and never will be but at the base in a 3 you don't need lightning pace just the abilty to be able to read the game, tackle, and play the easy ball to the ball playing midfielders! He can do that! Garcia was fantastic at it but yet again he was hanged out to dry in a mid 2 just look busquets devoid of pace and would look shit in a 2 but in a 3 he's the world's best!

Hi Neville, I think thats the problem mate.....Our style of play exposes his weaknesses....I'm sure in the right system, Fernando is a solid player and would do great but he doesnt suit our style of play and that puts added pressure on the midfield around him and when you have someone like Yaya who's strength is going forward and not defending...combine these 2 things and it just doesnt work. I agree, he's not a mug but I just dont think he fits what we need and because of out style, teams always going to find the weak link....
