People might laugh but I think fernando is made for that role I think if we play him at the bottom of a 3 we will see a very good player who's been played in his best position!
I'm with you, if he's used properly, at the base of a 3 man midfield and has somebody like Dinho/Delph alongside him to provide added legs and pressure on the ball i think he'll be a valuable asset for us. There's better out there but i don't think you need to have somebody world class in that area if you use him correctly and partner him with the right kind of players. i.e not just with Yaya.
Tbf what he's said is all true.

Hi uwe, I'm no expert mate but my problem with Fernando is that he doesnt have the movement skill-set or the pace to close down..he seems to take bad angles and gets off balance very easy...he runs very straight line and struggles to man mark....He really needs a league where the build up play is slower.....Wish I had your confidence in him mate!;) I just feel we'll spend the whole season covering up the weak link when he's called apon to start and when you add Yaya's style of play and age......we are going to continue to struggle against the best sides in the prem and in the CL....
I think he can do it but he seems to be a yard of pace off where he needs to be imo. Yet there was a period last season where he seemed to have that pace. Whether he fits in to this City team or not, Fernando is not some kind of fucking mug, like some City fans are making him out to be.
I think he would be fine in a lot of decent teams. It's the wide open style we are trying to learn which is the problem. It's not easy at all.
