De Bruyne?

Gotta ask, what have Wolfsburg done other than say they want to keep him? Have they added the talent necessary to challenge Bayern for the league next season? Have they added the talent necessary to make a statement in the champions league? They might not need to sell but they certainly need to do more than just say they like him and want him to stay. Otherwise why shouldn't he join a team like us as we are actively trying to do these things described above in our league? With his inclusion can add to us doing work in CL and he will get a significant increase in wages and a long term contract to hopefully give him the stability he's been looking for since leaving Chelsea.

Arsenal fans are booing him when he gets on the ball atm. What's that about? Please don't tell me it's simply because he is linked with us!
I'd like to think it is because he played for Chelsea, however briefly, but with these sad bastards and the current media smear campaign I wouldn't be surprised if it is because he is linked with us

I know others do not share that view but my instinct is that this is right - or at that he is at least one of the best.

Lots of posters make comments that just seems to reflect naivety and impatience and a lack of understanding of how these transfer at the top echelon likely work out.

Now I cannot claim to known any ins and outs of the transfer dealings but I can understand how it must be much more complex than lets say buying Kevin Nolan or some at the level that could go to Spurs, or Liverpool etc - that just takes a cheque book.

For the level of players such as Pogba and KDB then I think that there is a different process I guess as they will be wrapped up by an agent that will have been 'plotting' how to maximise/exploit opportunities. It probably means that to get your target you need first and foremost convince the agent to negotiate - then the player and then the club - this is what happened with Sterling I think?

The reason that I have confidence in Txiki is that his past history is likely to mean that he has so many contacts and readily chat/wine/dine etc with the people that matter. Compare that to the accountant at the swamp - he has no 'football credentials' at all - so he is limited to the chequebook.

Great post mate. Too many have become spoilt too quickly

Just read in commentary, the arsenal fans booing KDB...
