We paid nearly 20m for Navas and we got a average to decent winger.

we paid less than 15m and got very good value.
I was going off the Telegraph article I remember which said he was 17m but either way, he is a hard worker and provides us with an outlet but he is what he is, a decent winger.

Express: City believe Wolfsburg will not be able to turn down an offer of around £30m for De Bruyne, who could start City's summer rebuild

Sunday People: City will have to pay as much as £45m to land Wolfsburg playmaker Kevin De Bruyne (23) but are determined to sign him.

Daily Star: City officials have been in Germany and are confident of completing a £53m raid for Bundesliga stars De Bruyne and Firmino.

OK that escalated quickly

£45 million is way too much. He's 23 and this is only his first season performing at the top level so that kind of money makes it a risky signing. He's a good player but in my eyes he's not quite world class and wouldn't improve us enough to warrant that kind of fee. I would be happy bringing him in as an upgrade on Nasri if the money is right and we have it available but there should be other priorities, i.e Pogba and Sterling or somebody just as pacy and direct as him.

£53m for him and firming would be good business, 33m de bruyne and 20m firmino both sound fair and reasonable prices

^Totally agree, to think we'd sign KDB for more than 40 mil either makes you dense in the head or our management dense in the head... hoping its you ;)

For those who actually follow German football closely, is this guy what we need and the quality we need? I remember him at chelsea, but not exactly a world beater. I'm presuming he has come on a lot since then.

If we are buying both De Bruyne and Firmino does that mean we are not going for a genuine left winger. I'm with Dax on this I don't see the point of buying both of them. We need at least one world class winger or potential to be world class. We've not had a genuine left winger since Petrov.

This fella is a proper footballer; ideal profile in that he can come in and immediately improve the team while also having huge scope for personal improvement.
wow! This is a surprising departure from the norm :)

I think it might be a different story if he was called Jose De Bruyne ;)
