De Bruyne?

There seems to be a lot more pessimism about than what I can remember of the last few summers. I can only guess it's down to our poor performances last year.
I'm extremely optimistic about the up coming season. I don't see how it's possible not to be.
You answered that yourself in the middle of your post. Last season was frustrating, from New Year to April we were dreadful for a top side (and to think our injury crisis was in November and December!). We were out of all comps with 3-5 rounds to go and didn't challenge for anything. We were also hard to watch with our slow build up play a lot. Our core players, bar Kun, are all getting up to and past 30 and we were told this would be a big Summer and so far we've signed three lads for he EDS, a squad midfielder and Sterling who is more potential and is very inconsistent than he is already a really good player.

I can see why people have concerns.

There is a long way to go to keep singing players but there's also a long way to before I think we've done enough to go and win the league myself even if I think last season won't be repeated with the limp performances and attitude of 90% of the squad and management team.

We will be better but how much better and will Pellegrini have learnt lessons from last season?

Sterling is a fantastic player, already producing at an elite level.

I do agree he has potential to be even better, by the way, which is unbelievably exciting, but he is already an elite player. A lot better than just "potential" IMO.
