De Bruyne?

So buying a new player when we are already 1 over the quota for foreign players isn't a pretty obvious reason for not buying new players, and making those we are trying to sell worthless ?

Do you think those running the club are idiots ?

So tomorrow we have the choice between signing Pogba or KDB because we now have a space....its that obvious. It's a consideration not the reason. What that has got to do with me thinking City are idiots I don't know.

If you scroll up to City Watch that reason is the same as Ric gave and is just as plausible.

I'm led to believe that punctuation standards aren't as exacting in the former colonies, but I'd suggest that a colon, rather than a comma, would be more apposite within that sentence.

You're welcome.

Not if presented as speech, which to be fair, is the usual standard of communication on the forum.

Sorry, nobody at the club had thought of it you know.

Cleavers, you've made some excellent points mate....the only thing I wanted to add.....A team like Roma only needs to pick up the paper or look at the internet to see who we interested in......couldnt they just hold of bidding, waiting for us to buy a player and then make a move? Roma could easily wait until the last day of the window to bid again for Dzeko by which point someone like De Bruyne is no longer for sale.....No one really knows, maybe Roma is making a low bid at the moment because they already know, we need to move Dzeko?

Are we being tight over loyalty bonuses or somethin? Fuck me, just make a bid and pay the excess. With the fees involved its a drop. Regretting our stance on the moral high ground over Hazard and Isco. We need to do what needs to be done.

I'm sure they don't want to upset the fans, but Kaka was a totally different situation involving some of the most bent fucks in the world of football, & politics.

Think about it. Imagine you are Inter (& Roma for that matter) you declare an interest in Jovetic (Dzeko) & you see that no other fucker is coming in with any firm interest as competition, it's just you. So in typical Italian fashion, you haggle like fuck to get an absolute cheapskate deal, but City are trying to get every penny out of you & proving a hard bargain. You are becoming resigned to the fact that you will have to pay up.

Then City sign DeBruyne for 40 odd million quid.

Now you know City have to sell a player. So you stick to your original offer, even walk away, & if Ciy don't accept, you come in with a slightly increased one, on transfer deadline day. Meanwhile, your mates at Roma are doing the same, with Dzeko. So City have two players & are desperate to sell at least one. Which means other transfer business is stuck.

Yes it's not rocket science I'm saying it's by no means the only reason for the delay. I challenged the notion that 1 in 1 out was all there was too it and that now Jovetic had gone it was all we were waiting for.

Again if it was so obvious why was nobody making this point months ago. Jovetic puts us in a stronger position nothing more Wolsburg or Juventus could still say no deal.
