De Bruyne?

So buying a new player when we are already 1 over the quota for foreign players isn't a pretty obvious reason for not buying new players, and making those we are trying to sell worthless ?
Do you think those running the club are idiots ?
Well we do have previous in that area. Perhaps not for the past few years, but certainly for the preceding three or four decades.

Cleavers, you've made some excellent points mate....the only thing I wanted to add.....A team like Roma only needs to pick up the paper or look at the internet to see who we interested in......couldnt they just hold of bidding, waiting for us to buy a player and then make a move? Roma could easily wait until the last day of the window to bid again for Dzeko by which point someone like De Bruyne is no longer for sale.....No one really knows, maybe Roma is making a low bid at the moment because they already know, we need to move Dzeko?
Of course they can do that, but they risk us saying no, just as much as we risk DB not being available. At this level everyone is generally aware of who wants who, and why the dealings are often quiet, until done.

thanks for your replies mate!;)

Hmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmm Hmmmmmmmmm.
Chant over.

We don't need to move Dzeko. It would be preferable but if we can't get our price he stays and like Jovetic last season is omitted from our squad list.
We still go ahead with the proposed purchases & carry the financial loading.
There are still 34 days of the window remaining. The only people beginning to panic are some of the fans. It is too early to panic.
I trust the current regime

Yes it's not rocket science I'm saying it's by no means the only reason for the delay. I challenged the notion that 1 in 1 out was all there was too it and that now Jovetic had gone it was all we were waiting for.

Again if it was so obvious why was nobody making this point months ago. Jovetic puts us in a stronger position nothing more Wolsburg or Juventus could still say no deal.

Of course they could, & may do for all I know, but does it not make perfect sense to you & indeed everyone else, that City would try to get the best price for players leaving, & should it really need highlighting all the time ? Can't people just use a bit of common sense ?

I'm pretty sure people have made this point before, as a possibility which may come up. Not just now, but in previous transfer windows. It can also work the other way, that the manager will not want to shed certain players unless either there is a strong likelihood of another coming in, or the offer is too good to refuse. I'm not sure Pellegrini will be happy to release Dzeko without a nailed on replacement player for instance, unless he's been told he has to, or unless the price gives us further bargaining power.

If we are serious about DeBruyne, I imagine the bidding process will now start or perhaps the actual transfer.
