De Bruyne?

We don't need to move Dzeko. It would be preferable but if we can't get our price he stays and like Jovetic last season is omitted from our squad list.
We still go ahead with the proposed purchases & carry the financial loading.
There are still 34 days of the window remaining. The only people beginning to panic are some of the fans. It is too early to panic.
I trust the current regime

Hi Doctor, I agree there is no need to panic but in one way, thats like saying the first 3 or 4 games of the season are not important....If we want the strongest team possible to play Chelsea in week 2....we dont have 34 days to get these deals done....clearly we could be without a few 1st team players to start the season....getting our targets signed in time should be even more important this season.....just my opinion mate!;)

Of course they could, & may do for all I know, but does it not make perfect sense to you & indeed everyone else, that City would try to get the best price for players leaving, & should it really need highlighting all the time ? Can't people just use a bit of common sense ?

I'm pretty sure people have made this point before, as a possibility which may come up. Not just now, but in previous transfer windows. It can also work the other way, that the manager will not want to shed certain players unless either there is a strong likelihood of another coming in, or the offer is too good to refuse. I'm not sure Pellegrini will be happy to release Dzeko without a nailed on replacement player for instance, unless he's been told he has to, or unless the price gives us further bargaining power.

If we are serious about DeBruyne, I imagine the bidding process will now start or perhaps the actual transfer.

Yes I don't think we actually disagree. Just semantics. You are saying having a space improves our negotiating position I'm agreeing and saying it's by no means the only factor and I don't believe that would have stopped us signing KDB a month ago if a deal could have been done that suited all parties.

Maybe I leapt on the "it's as simple as 1 in 1 out"statement and took it too literally but that's how I read it.

Nothing wrong with what you say.........don't forget we are a very good team....... The additions just make us better.
