De Bruyne?

I wasn't putting you in that catagory but your point re Delph is ridiculous. Villa being in a relegation battle has no baring on either the quality of the player or the Sterling transfer, they are two entirely seperate things. By linking them you are actively looking to piss on my chips for the sake of it rather than making a reasonable point.

The Sterling transfer is an historic one. I grew up watching Kevin Keegan, Ian Callaghan etc winning titles & us trying to get back up there near them. Then I watched Barnes/Beardsley etc winning titles knowing we had absolutely no chance of getting near them.

To take their absolute best player & possibly England's best player in the next ten years, is a major event in my time watching City. To many on here it's just like buying a Mars Bar.
Fair enough. I do agree that taking a player from Liverpool is a statement in terms of the PL, yeah.

My point re Delph was just to counter that point really. But as I just said to Marvin, it's a pointless discussion as I think it's a decent signing. I maybe misunderstood your post a bit, tbf.

Maybe just me thinking this, but anyone else think that there is potential for a Dzeko + Cash swap for KDB?

Edin had a fantastic record for them and knows the league after playing there for 3/4 seasons.
I was hoping for the same.

God I want Dzeko gone. What a great contributor to our 2 recent titles but what an example since of someone who couldn't give a crap. Sooner he's gone the better.

.......Fernandinho/Fernando...Yaya/Delph........

Sterling/Navas....Silva/Nasri....De Bruyne/Lopes

There's quite good depth there I think, although it would be nice to increase the quality of the 2 DM's.

So

................Kun
Sterling......Silva.....KdB

The question then is who are the two behind David. If Yaya is one of them we are back to square one in terms of offering any midfield protection.

We would have the exact same problem with Pogba imo. He isn't Roy Keane or Makelele.

It's upto the manager to make a balanced 11 vs the opposition, on the day, in order to give them the strongest game. If we are playing Bournmouth, Yaya as part of a 2 behind 4 attacking players might he fine. If we are playing Barca, you would expect we need at least two ie Delph & Fernandinho, with Yaya if he plays.

But if we sign DeBruyne & Pellegrini can't balance out a team & give any oppo a serious game from the players he would have available, he is shit imo. We would have one of the best squads in the world, with or without Pogba.

Slightly off topic but will the squad that we have for PL fixtures be able to defend better against say the Burnley's of the PL or will we still be vulnerable to those who defend in depth yet break with effect (at least they do against City) ?

Regarding CL I hope we have taken note of Barca's new style last year that insisted that ALL their stars played a part in tracking back when they lost possession.

Well he hammered both of them in the Bundesliga POTY so he must be a fair bit quality and a bit less potential, wouldn't you say?
And Alan Pardew got manager of the year when we won the league. So what!

I am not having a pop at Sterling, Delph or De Bruyne but I wouldn't say I was excited as when we got the likes of Yaya, Silva and Serge.
