De Bruyne?

While KdB is a talented player he's not an essential purchase, Sterling Kun and Silva as the front three, with Yaya , Dinho and Pogba?? behind. Nasri as back up for DS. Navas for Raheem. The two outstanding positions in the starting line up that need attention are CM and a LB.

If we get De Bruyne and he is ok to play on the wing, Silva can move in the middle behind Kun. I think most of us would agree that this the position where Silva should play. So with De Brunye we would not just add a really good player to our squad, we could also move our (in my opinion) best and most important player into his favorite position.

I think as long as they get the players all will be well. The real issues will be if they leave it late and don't get the players of the quality they want.

Personally I do think KDB is the 'central' player we're looking at and that Pogba is an exceptional transfer where if we can do it on the terms that suit us we will, but if not we won't necessarily go into the market for another midfielder. Not with Navas and Nasri both staying.
The more I think about it, the more I think you are right.

I don't think that is the right move, and I still think we need to strengthen there to be able to progress as we want in Europe. But, I think you may be right about KDB - we haven't spent £44m on Sterling to rotate with a c£40m De Bruyne. They will both play.

If, as it appears, we will play 433, then the only way to fit them both in regularly is to play KDB as part of the midfield. If we play 4231 then they can both fit in a 3 just behind Aguero, but it isn't looking like that will be the formation.

Whether I think that is right or not is a different story. If any of the rumours re. Wilshere are true I think that would be a great signing. IF he could stay fit then then he would fit in perfectly. And in some home games (against much weaker teams) we could play:

Yaya
Wilshere
KDB
Sterling
Silva
Aguero

That would absolutely tear teams apart. Getting a bit off topic now though!

Khaldoon has to remember that signing two England internationals, one of whom is prised from the 5 times European Champions for a record fee, means nothing to the spoilt fuckers who follow City these days.
Not sure if you are grouping me into the 'spoint fucker' category.

Sterling is a quality signing. Delph is a shrewd buy, in no way is he the top category signing that was spoken about. That's Pogba and KDB.

And '5 times European Champions' - you sound like them mate! 'Prised him' - he wanted to go. Great signing though, and has looked brilliant in pre-season.

Regarding Delph - I'll play devils advocate. You want to talk about Liverpool's history when referring to the Sterling signing. By a similar token, we signed a midfielder from a team who have been fighting relegation mate. I think he's a good signing, but don't use one argument for one thing, and not the other.

Considering how shit our recent transfer windows were, that is not really something that is hard to achieve.
I agree with that. I've not seen much of De Bruyne, but his output and achievements look amazing, however where we struggled last season was central midfield, or to be more precise we kept on playing Toure when he was immobile, the result was we ended up dropping a forward and packing the midfield to give us extra legs in midfield.

However it maybe that the coaching staff feel that that will not happen this time around, or we may have a change in style of play 3 up front with a more energetic midfield instead eg Fernando, Fernandinho and Delph.

We don't have a World Class left back, but Kolarov and Clichy are competent enough. I wouldn't say they are weaknesses. Maybe against the very best players but task one is to win the league and a domestic cup. We're still quite a way behind Barcelona, PSG and Bayern and it's unrealistic to expect to close the gap in one window.

As it stands I think City and Arsenal are the only top sides who have improved their squad. Utd have bought players, but they've also sold players. Where are their central defenders and forwards?
