De Bruyne?

Course not dave but in fairness we never seem able to do a deal quickly? Its always a long drawn out process!

That's because it's a £100m+ transaction involving many parties. Everyone at City would of course want every deal done on July 2nd. But it doesn't work like that in football, and it's a five year investment we are making.

You think City are just tossing it off, sitting around not doing anything? That nobody is arsed how quickly this deal happens?

Hi Didsbury Dave....which is why I said they dont "seem" to be showing any urgency....I understand alot must be going on behind closed doors that we not seeing and No, I dont think we sat round doing anything!;) but I also understand no-one is perfect and mistakes happen......With a "thin" squad to start the season, I think its a mistake not to have our business done earlier....I just get the feeling Wolfsburg have been at the table a while, waiting for us to turn up!.....just my opinion mate!;)

It amazes me that such even needs explaining.

Hi Matty......I agree mate....I find it frustrating that, we already know we going to be thin for the start of the season but we dont "seem" to be showing any urgency to get these deals done.....It seems like Wolfsburg have been waiting weeks for us to make a bid!.....I agree its difficult to put a time scale on negotiations but we havent even come to the table with an official bid yet?!....oh well, fingers crossed something happens soon!;)

We're looking at signing up a player, for tens of millions of pounds, on a 5 or potentially 6 year contract. In the grand scheme of things his availability for a couple of Premier League games at the start of this season pales into insignificance. City will be doing this the right way, trying to get the best possible deal, and sometimes the only way to do that is to give the issue time to ruminate, let Wolfsburg fret over the money, let De Bruyne worry about City walking away. Something has to give at some point for this to happen, it's like a 3 way game of chicken waiting for someone to blink.

He's quite good at handing it back out I've heard.

Did you hear that from somebody he hangs out with?

Hi Matty, I agree mate...these deals are not easy but there is a pattern showing with our transfers...we seem to follow the same process in every transaction....Every player is different but we seem to treat every transaction with the same slowly, slowly, careful approach.....I'm no expert and not saying this is wrong...just getting frustrating when you see a player like Vidal..... price agreed, terms agreed and sold within 7-10days of making contact.....They had a need and acted on it.....would be alot less frustrating if it didnt take months to do a deal!;).......I do agree tho.....in the end, getting the player is the most important thing!;) cheers for the reply!;)
