De Bruyne?

Come on mate, I said quite clearly:

They're different players of course, with different strengths and weaknesses, but I don't understand why you'd have you denigrate Lampard to elevate Delph.

Worth pointing out though that Delph wasn't Villa's anchorman De Jong type, he was their do it all centre mid. And that goal return is poor whichever way you look at it.

My point though was simply that it's a debatable point whether or not Delph for Lampard represents a strengthening of the squad. Especially since Yaya's a year older for example.

I'd argue that it is though, given Yaya's proven himself a reliable goal scorer, and like you said, bringing in Delph could see us pushing Yaya forward for example - if need be.

Plus, the pursuit of De Bruyne is far from dead yet. Horses for courses.

I just took exception to you undermining Lampard's contributions last season.

What are you talking about? lampard's legs have gone. He got a few goals last season but most games passed him by. we did well to squeeze some contribution from him, but he's finished as a top level player. Delph is 25 and a very good midfielder and for that reason represents an enormous upgrade on Lampard. It's ridiculous to suggest anything else.

If we willing to pay "Sterling fee" and that meets Wolfsburg valuation....surely things should start moving soon?

Daily Mail: Talks have taken place between City and Wolfsburg but no formal bid has been made yet. City willing to pay a Sterling type fee.

Daily Mail: City will be cleared to open talks with Kevin De Bruyne (24) if they meet Wolfsburg's valuation of £45m~£50M.
WOW!

Thanks for the updates, mate!

You're not following me mate.

Their discussion was about a disagreement on whether or they considered the squad to be strengthened.

I'm not arguing we should have kept Lampard, he's past it, and a year older. I'm arguing that his contribution last year was pretty reasonable, that's all. SWP was more or less writing it off entirely.

I also think his influence around the dressing room was a good one as well, Zabaleta commented on his professionalism and how inspiring it was to see a player of his age, who'd achieved so much, still working so hard in training. But that's another discussion.

Well, seeing as though De Bruyne has said himself there has been no bid then surely that suggests there has been no bid.

I don't know what they're up to. But it's a week before the season starts and they seem to be pretty damn laconic given that fact.

A helpful suggestion. Do not believe anything a footballer, agent, manager, or DOF says during the transfer window.
the article was on City Watch but I'm not sure how to post the picture, and I don't want to post a link after Ric's recent message. Blackburn states were going to make a bid in excess of £40m, which ties in with Ric saying a deal will be done around £46m. I'd imagine Blackburn has been briefed by the club, as he's good for City related news.

You can post links...just not the full content.
