De Bruyne?

If we don't sign Pogba then I'd be happy to see Zuculini in our squad for the next season. His loan spell was disastrous. There's no doubt about that. He wasn't given a real opportunity for whatever reason. From what I've seen in pre-season is that he's someone who will work very hard in that midfield area, and that's exactly what we need.

Last season we could very well have won the league had we the type of players like Zuculini. With Delph and Fernandinho as other options in that role we're in a very good position considering the number of games we'll have this time around. We've didn't have many options in the centre of the park last season and it takes its toll.

In the CL, in a knockout game 1st leg, I'd be happy to see all three of those in the middle of the park, soaking up pressure. Let's be honest, with Yaya as our main creative player in the middle, we'll need some cover in midfield to allow him the freedom to play to his strengths and not run himself into the ground.

If De Bruyne arrives, I'd still like to see Lopes in our first team squad. Navas created a lot of goal scoring opportunities for all his sins. His mentality can't be questioned, late on in games he will find space and will cause problems.

If I was running City, I'd have been trying to sell Nasri all summer. A good season every other isn't good enough at his age. I'd rather give a young lad a chance than hope Nasri finds consistency. De Bruyne, Lopes, Navas, Silva, Sterling as attacking options I'd be very comfortable with.

If our fall back position for a failed attempt to sign Pogba is to use Zuculini instead then we're in a sorry state indeed. If Pogba doesn't arrive then I very much hope we've got another top quality target in mind. Zuculini hasn't played enough football over the last year or so to be trusted with a spot in our squad, in my opinion. He needs to be loaned to someone who will actually play him, and who aren't mired in a relegation fight. Rumours of a loan to Deportivo La Coruna are being heard, wouldn't be the worst of moves, if they intend on giving him regular gametime.

We could have won the league with players like Zuculini. What are you basing that on mate - it's a pretty bold statement.

In his defence we've won the league with players like Bridge, Sinclair and Richard Wright in the team and Zuculini has the potential to be of far more use than any of them.

Ignore his loan deals. Harry Kane was completely wank for on loan several clubs, and scored 30 goals last season. He went to Valencia, then they got loads of money and brought in permanent players to use instead. Then he went to a Cordoba side so shit they were almost relegated before he arrived - not the situation to throw a 21 year old loanee into the team.

Look at his actual performances in a City shirt to judge him, not the fact you heard he had a bad loan spell.
I've watched him in blue, rather have fernando.

Not sure if you're 'carkie-ing' me?

Pretty sure Wayne Bridge was on loan when we won the league - he certainly didn't play. Kolarov and Clichy were our LBs, both times.
Richard Wright was 3rd choice keeper.
Scott Sinclair was on loan at WBA the season we won the league.

The more I think about it, the more I think your post was just mocking him even more???

I'd rather we paid the £50 million for De Bruyne than have Nasri and Navas playing every week.

If we have to pay £50 million, not a penny less, then just pay it and get the player in.

In several games last season our midfield looked like it wasn't there. A lot of that was down to the 2 man midfield we often played, but it was also down to energy and workrate. The rag teams that have won the title have included players like John O'Shea and Wes Brown. It's about finding the players that allow the team to play its best football. Zuculini, and Delph are players that will hustle the opposition, they have a lot of energy and okay, we've not seen enough to suggest he would have won us the league, but adding energy into the midfield areas would have helped us become a more solid proposition last season.

We were a rarity last season, in that we scored the most goals but didn't win the league. Why? Because we conceded too many. We create plenty of opportunities and we score lots of goals. Balance is key, and that was least seen in the middle of the park. Whilst Pogba is a class act, and so is Yaya, to get the best out of them you have to have those players working themselves into the ground around them. We didn't have that last season. From the little we've seen of Zuculini you know he will put that effort in, and so will Delph.

The Jimmy Milner style players won't win awards but they will help teams win titles.
