Agree. But you forgot to name the group that want things to happen to having bragging right to some raggies they know. The ones that think a player is brilliant and they don't understand why we're not after him ourselves. The ones that even go as far as stating they want City to drive up the price to store things up and make Scum pay more money or fail to get their target.

Its all well and good having the physicality needed in the premier league, but in the champions league, you also have to have the technicality to go with it.

You never know until you try.
Some step up to the plate, and some don't. He's never really had the opportunity, so it's harsh on him to say he can't. I'd say at 8m, we're not banking on him being able to, or having to, but if he can, it's a huge bonus. If he can't, he will at least be able to give other players a breather (rotation), which is still a very important role.

No more so than the vast majority of our squad looks / have looked at that level.

My point is he is better than Fernando, Garcia and Rodwell so is an improvement in the 'meat and potatoes midfielder' category.

In terms of this category of player, I don't feel there are many out there, who are available, who for the £ paid, are better bets.
