I had this same conversation with a spurs fan who doesn't rate sterling fist thing he said to was well he didn't do much did he and my replie was pretty much what you said him not realizing how much he actually did to draw players away and freeing up the space for others to manipulate.

It's not been analysed or reported in the press either but Pellers won't have missed it for a second.

It appears it fell on deaf ears with more than a few in here.

Regarding sterling, did you see the extra room Silva and Yaya were afforded (and Kolarov) as Chelsea were having to double up on him due to him skinning Ivanovich (something neither silva or nasri could have done). It left them wide open on their right.

Sterling dint get an assist or goal, but he was fundamental to us cutting through them so frequently which we were unable to do, despite bossing the past 4 or 5 games against them.

Sterling is vital for us against teams that park the bus, and gives a new dimension on the counter to teams that decide to play football against. KDB on the right will be the same.

Sterling also tracks runners that Silva and Nasri didn't meaning Kolarov wasn't exposed. This then meant that Ferhnadinho wasn't pulled out to the left and allowed a perfect defensive shape and the rest you summed up perfectly.

Absolutely mate. And to be fair to Navas he did the same on the right. He just doesn't offer the right final ball like our new best pal, KDB, will.

I doubt that any side will DARE to defend high up the pitch this season. The pace of Navas, Aguero and Sterling means all it takes is a good pass from Silva or Toure and any one of them is in on goal.
It will be reported as not trying against us or parking the bus. The truth is that it will be self preservation. When that fails, just kick Silva.

I'm just trying to look at this objectively. The lack of progression should, understandably, be frustrating for any City fan. I hope we get him but I'm worried.

I understand your point mate but at some point, something needs to give and De bruyne making the same type of statement that Otamendi did, would get things moving alot faster.....I love the fact that Otamendi pushed for this move. I dont know if a loyalty bonus was written his contract but I would guess, if it was...he not likely to get it after telling his club not to play him, not turn up for training and fly to the UK before deal complete.....It does sound like De Bruyne has again told his club he wants to leave so hopefully things will start moving...

How many quotes have you heard from City ?

No need for Wolfsburg to have ever said anything other than 'he's our player' ' he's in our team'. Absolutely no need to have mentioned Bayern Munich or City or anyone else.

ICYMI: CITY CLOSING IN ON DE BRUYNE

Manchester City are close to a deal forKevin De Bruyne, according to Sky sources, which would take their summer spending towards the £150m mark.

Wolfsburg value the former Chelsea midfielder at more than £50m and it is understood they are reluctant to move from that asking price.

City are determined to complete the deal as quickly as possible, having already finalised Nicolas Otamendi's move from Valencia.

Can understand your point but personally im not a fan of these highly paid players refusing to play. I wouldnt like to see silva refuse to play if Madrid came calling.

Not really sure why some are criticising are wolfsburg (not you personally), kdb still has quite a while left on his contract and they know city have unlimited funds so I can understand them not budging and waiting for their valuation being met.

Sure a deal will be struck before the window closes.

much like sterling , this is all done by the unprofessionalism of wolfsburg and in particular hecking and aloffs it could have been concluded amicably if they had gone about it in the manner of either saying they are not selling him and that would be that or saying we will not discuss until a bid has been accepted end of just like MP does, it was laughable today for hecking to say that KDB is tired because of all the speculation surrounding him when all the speculation has been brought about because of them and their absolute inability to shut the hell up
