He can and has played there for Belgium in the past, but his ball retention isn't really good enough to do it at the very top level, doesn't get stuck in enough either, he could learn a lot from Silva.

He played well when given the chance at Chelsea so I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and say yes.

I don't share some on here's over inflated opinion of the quality of the vast majority of sides in the Bundesliga though so I don't think he'll be able to replicate his end product with Wolfsburg here, at least not straight away. It helps imo if you think of him as a like for like replacement for Milner.

Manchester United have edged closer to the £58.1million transfer of Wolfsburg forward Kevin De Bruyne.

The Red Devils have been boosted by the Belgian refusing to guarantee that he will play for the Bundesliga club next season.

‘What will happen in the summer I don’t know,’ De Bruyne told Eurosport. ‘As a player it is so stupid to say that I will stay here and then some big club is coming in and offer Wolfsburg a lot of money that they want and they say you can go or something like that.

‘I’m very happy here and I think I will play here next season but I can’t give you a 100 per cent guarantee.’

De Bruyne has enjoyed an incredible season scoring 15 goals and claiming 26 assists for the German side.
