De Bruyne?

But how long is an airline trip from Manchester, using a private jet ?

Take your point ... but it's not quite as easy as jumping in a car, especially as he could choose to live somewhere in between

Anyway hope this Paris thing is a red herring and he's a city player before the end of the week

I don`t know how bad these problems are, but he should really think about if he wants to waste his best years in the fecking french legaue (nice country though). Some people say Paris are ahead of us and are contenders for the CL, I can`t share this point of view, we are at least at one level, more a bit ahed of them.

WOW....great interview...thanks Ric! Guy seems to know what he's talking about! I like the way De Bruyne's agent started ringing round right away after the live show, to make sure people knew it was a mistake and he not happy!..I think this shows they still want the move...

I would think (only my opinion) that City would put that into the contract anyway.Makes it look good that he knows how much City want him.I`m cetain it would only cost HH about £30 in air fuel. ;)

Ok. For argument's sake let's say that the fee that will be enough to get him is 50m.

Wolfsburg's preferred outcome remains to keep the player, but if their hand is forced, they'll take 50m.

The window shuts at the end of this month and in Wolfsburg's position, I would be spending that time doing everything I could to keep him. Even if that 50m is there on the table, they dont need to accept it right now. They know we want him and won't go away (but hey, if we do, that's a bonus).

In their position, id be spending between now and September doing everything I could to persuade him to stay. Maybe prepare a new contract, maybe try and convince him that if he stays with Wolfsburg one more year, he could be the main man at Bayern in 12 months. If it doesn't work, then they'll grudgingly take the cash.

In short, I'm not sure that offering the final asking price (which we may have already done) would make the deal happen any quicker.
Do you agree we fucked about with hazard and lost out. ?

For how long this will continue? He should be city player sooner rather than later
I am not sure about that private situation, but I think he should grab this opportunity and move on, time is passing and the more it is delayed the worse it becomes for all parties

He's not interested in Paris. Is us or stay at Wolf if Txiki can't agree a fee.

As soon as the fee is agreed, we will agree personal terms.

aren't the personal terms already agreed??? and tbh after what happened last night i'm not so sure he want to stay there...they made a mockery of themselves what that joke

Wasn't that more to do with an outright refusal to pay the agent's fees rather than messing around to get a lower fee? Either way, maybe it was a fuck up and with hindsight maybe they wish they had paid the agent whatever he wanted. Or maybe taking that stand has served us well with respect to deals we've conducted since. We really don't know. That's one deal that didn't come off though, in a different set of circumstances and I don't think it's enough to support the assertion that we're taking too long over deals now.

We completed on Sterling in time for the pre-season tour and we got ourselves a good clear run at negotiating that deal by putting in a big enough opening bid in to put other teams off. Chelsea seem to be having even more difficulty securing John Stones and he's got nothing like as good a reputation as Sterling. They're probably going to end up paying a hell of a lot more than they wanted as well now that their problems are there for all to see.

But yeah, my point is more that we might well have already slapped a massive offer down for De Bruyne and done everything we can to secure the deal. If Wolfsburg are trying to find a way to keep him though, short of offering something absolutely ridiculous, I can't see what else we can do to speed things up. If we get the Bundesliga player of the year in before the window closes, from a team that has no wish to sell and no real need for the money, then i think that can be considered a job well done.
