De Jong easily motm

Thought the whole team were magnificent today, especially the defence all the back four played well including micah and bridge. But de jong was magnificent.

Probably the best player performance by a city player this season so far, and his passion after the game when he came over to 110/111 was awesome to see. More of this please. Top man.

Definitely Hughes' best signing.

Id still go with Given on that one...penalty king

I'd agree with DeJong immesnse at the heart of midfield, with all due respect to Shay ( and I have a lot of respect for him ) any Penalty save is down to a degree of luck by the goalkeeper (how many times have you expected ( and I know it's City) a penalty to be missed when we are taking one) NDJ was the dogs bollocks, the wasps nipples and the errongeous zone of any animal you have ever thought of today. Top man.

'Like I said though, City worked hard and pressed us, closed us down and De Jong was like a man possessed to the final whistle. Yes we lost, but based on the chances we had any honest City fan would say we possibly deserved a draw, but you still have to stick it in the net.'

from a Chelsea Forum lol.

I tell you what, I said at start of season he would be key, but he's something else. His ability t break up play, win the ball and tackle in second to none. Can't think of a defensive mid i'd swap for him at the moment.

Great result!!

hopefully this can really kick us into life and help us push up table over Xmas period! which is such an important part of season.

Ive seen fixture list, and are games through december and Jan.... are all games we should be looking to take points from. The likes of Bolton, Stoke, Everton & Spurs.

Special mention to Richards, who was a rock at right back. Lescott was immense for second time in a week. Wright-Phillips is pushing hard for a world cup place & Tevez worked his socks off. Never knew he was such a good passer and distributor of the ball!!

Great Win

At the end of the day, i would go 12 rounds with Hatton followed by weekend away with The neville brothers, than be man marked by DE JONG.

NIGE YOU ARE A MONSTER!!!!!!!

No doubt been said numerous times already but DJ was absolutely immense today, a Captains performance from someone who isn`t Captain, and we need that from all the players week-in week-out.

I think tonight's performance just sealed his place in our Hall of Fame - his work rate and commitment were superb, he made Lampard look average. He never gave up, even doing a 30 yard sprint down the wing near the end. He looked like he could have carried on all nite. Legend.

Think that was the hardest working, most impressive performance I have ever seen in a City Shirt in 30 years. Absolute rock.
