De Jong

please explain how you think he's 3 and 3 different experienced managers think otherwise

Can't run.

Can't pass.

Poor tackler, always slides in late, due to lack of mobility and pace

Sits too deep and gets in the centre-backs way.

Useless for defending set-pieces as he is five feet nothing.

Never chips in with the odd goal.

ln a nutshell, he is absolute gash and the biggest bluffer going.

Needs fucking off to allow Barry to prosper in his proper position.

Now tell me why you rate him apart from the myth that he 'somehow breaks up play' ?

Fuckin Ell Man your a footballing genius,

Dont think Bobby Manc or the Dutch manager have sussed this out yet

better tell em before its too late,or City might finish 4th n he might go to the world cup and star again for them in another big tourney

Be quick now

Oh dear this is big time tin hat stuff but has to be said........

We are a better team when NDJ doesnt play

Last 2 games have shown that for me, i have thought it for a while and in certain games he will be effective when we have midfield tussles but most of the time he stops us going forward and slows the game down, which doe snot suit are play

He's brilliant at what he does, but what he does is not always required. The trick is working out when we need him and when we don't.

He gets games at present because there is no other option, we have the smallest squad of central midfielders. Do you think Mancini was trying to bring in almost exclusively midfielders for the fun of it.
De Jong is an aerial non entity, which is a big negative for a sweeper (defensive midfielder). I'd call De Jong a sweeper because is has none of the skills required to be a midfielder.
The one skill he is lauded for is his tackling, of which he isn't even the best at in the team.
Can't pass, run or shoot, a complete lack of any sense of how deep to play and when.
Makelele was vastly over praised for what he did for club and country, De Jong is no where near as good as him.
The idea of a holding midfielder is nonsense, the best midfielders from the past have said so, defensive duties are a shared burden as is movement and distribution.
To say it doesn't matter if a midfielder can't pass or run because it's not what he's in the team for is dumb logic but I've heard it trotted out again and again over De Jong.
Kompany does everyting on a football pitch better than De Jong, can play his role, still get forward and support play and actually pass forwad.
De Jong is a bench warmer at best!

So bigmal you have never ever questioned a managers team selection ?

l see some very eloquent ,lucid posts highlighting the reasons for de-jong not being included in our strongest team.

Whereas his fans offer very little apart from tired cliches about 'breaking up play' .

Well in the 8 games de-jong hasn't been picked we have won 6 and drawn 2 .

And with him playin the majority of games weve got ourselves into 4th and have lost the least number of games in the PL this season if im not mistaken.

Crack on with your stats

ln the modern game that type of limited, one dimensional , dinosaur type player is now obsolete .[/quote

Agreed 100%
