Club has all the power here, though. Whatever we're offering it's more than other clubs pay holding midfielders.

This sounds like Williams' doing. In previous years I have a feeling we'd have paid him almost anything he asked.

Absoltely! CITY; PAY THE MAN WHAT HE WANTS!

If I were doing the same job as someone and they were getting almost four times what I was then I'd want to be given a pay rise. Doesn't matter if that's £11k/yr-£38k/yr or £60k/wk-£200k/wk. The principal is exactly the same!
 
Yaya was ESTABLISHED international player in the best team in the world and can play DM or AM positions contributing vital goals.

NDJ, while EXCELLENT at what he does, is a relatively one dimensional player.

Accordingly, I think £100K per week is a MAXXED OUT contract number for such a player, just as a RB does not get paid what a RW gets paid, if the RW scores a few goals, too!

Defenders simply do not get paid what goal scorers get paid, simples.

Ergo, first year £85K, plus bonuses, with £5K increments per year for five years will put him in the £100K+ club for the last two years of his contract. He IS Vice Captain, after all, and we DO miss him when he is not healthy.

Sorted. Next!

He's there with you now, isn't he Bob? He's making you say this isn't he? Go on what's he doing right now? Is he staring at you with raw meat round his chops, his pearly whites blood stained as he grimaces so?
 
People taking a half-baked snippet of a story as fact and then having a go at one of our top players. Unbelievable.

His contract isn't running out this season. There's no need to panic. Everything will be sorted.

No footballer in this day and age would play for almost nothing, might be a nice honest guy but all comes down to money
 
If he wants 100k a week, I would offer him 120k just to make sure he was happy.
 
Greed. He's a good player, and important to us, but let's not get carried away with saying he is the best in the world at what he does. He runs around a lot, tackles and kicks people, that's all - bu the does it extremely well. The club will offer him what they believe to be a decent wage, and if he doesn't like that then he will seek another club.

Yet they'll spunk the reputed wages some of the others get though? NDJ is one of our most important players i'd say.
