Do Roma need the dosh - thought they were relatively financially stable compared to most clubs - they were in shit a few years ago but the new American pwners sorted them out

Rammyblues said:IMO you don't have a press conference to say you are going. You do have a press conference to say you have had the most fabulous offer from City, that the board have been staggered at the transfer fee involved but having discussed the matter with the Chairman he has backed me 100% in the decision and my decision is that I stay.
1) It raises his profile evenmore with the Roma fans
2) It endears the fans more to the new owner and their project
3) It tells the Prem League that Seria A can retain its best players and money doesn't always talk.
4) Allows them to have a pop at AC Milan who sold Silva and Ibra.
All all this just before the start of the new season.
I will hold my hands up and apologise to the whole board if this is his farewell.

Therefore, if he was to announce he was leaving on tuesday, that suggests we already have an agreement in place; but no matter how water tight people think we conduct our dealings now, I really doubt that there would not be more around this.
He isn't just going to have a press conference to say he is leaving before it has been leaked that we have agreed a fee; the club needs to be made out to be the bad guy first, surely?
I think it will either be to say he is staying, or more than likely it will be nothing to do with us whatsoever.
