I don't think we need him. In my opinion, we've got the strongest midfield in the league and not short of numbers in that department. Surely we should be looking at a centre-half for now.
Our midfield isn't as strong as some people think, at the moment we have barry, yaya, milner and de jong but milner very rarely plays in the centre. Barry and de jong is a mid table partnership which means we rely on yaya to much imo, de rossi would give us more quality depth and also allow yaya to push up.

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi's contract extension hinging on exit clause - report

The Italy international is allegedly open to signing a new deal with the Giallorossi, but insists on the inclusion of a minimum fee release clause in the contract

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi's contract extension depends on the Serie A side's willingness to include a minimum fee release clause in the Italy international's new deal, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

De Rossi's current agreement with the Giallorossi is due to expire at the end of the season, and both parties have long been in talks about a new contract.

A recent report suggested that Roma had made a final offer of €6 million per year for the next five seasons, but negotiations have not led to a new deal just yet.

Roma director Franco Baldini allegedly met with De Rossi's agent Sergio Berti last week to discuss a new contract, and the biggest talking point is believed to be the height of a minimum fee release clause.

The midfielder reportedly insists on having the option to move on for a set fee in case the Giallorossi fail to qualify for the Champions League over the next few seasons.

Clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring the 28-year-old's situation at the Stadio Olimpico.

I agree mate. We have a strong midfield in terms of the Premier League however on terms of competing on the European front i think we need to bolster up a little. De Rossi could be a valuable asset to us in this case.

Tell you what we really need .... some world class wingers.. Silva and Nasri are great playing behind the CF but some speed and creativity on the wings will turn us into a frightening team.. this is one one of the reasons Spurs are playing well this season.

Definitely agree we need a proper world class winger and a consistent one as well, united have 3 top draw wingers and personally I think nani is the best winger in the world in terms of consistency. Bale or hazzard would be great signings and also allow us to change our play.

De Rossi Barry

Hazzard Aguero Silva

Could also play 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2

Johnson De rossi Yaya Hazzard

Silva

Aguero
Or play ballotelii instead or silva in 4-4-2 meaning we don't use the centre as much and therefore not relying on silva as we do now.

I agree too, we need more width and in some case a plan b.
So far it seems they figured us out, and we are now having a bit of a rough time penetrating defenses.

A tricky winger who is more consistent then Johnson is in my opinion more important then getting DDR.

But for this current system we are using, DDR would fit like a glove and improve us immediately

I think he ll come , this going to hold on till end of Jan , and in last hours of transfer clock , we ll sign him you ll see or maybe even faster than we think... Hazard wont move to City .

First, I never mentioned anything to do with it being from goal.com - I am capable of distinguishing that it's from Gazetta however that doesn't mean that Goal haven't ripped off an article from a few days ago, that's their normal formula.

Can you post the link to show that Gazetta ran this story TODAY?
