Bloody hell mate don’t hold your breath.Looking forward to it. No afterlife, just peace I hope. Want to see City win the UCL first however.
Frail and confined to bed is no fun and old people get tiredSome people aren't bothered. My mother-in-law is 100, and actually wants to go. When told of the Duke of Edinburgh's death she said "Isn't he lucky! I wish it were me"
She hasn't got dementia, but is very frail and confined to bed, and says she has no reason to go on. She has no interest in anything which might take her mind off things.
The consolation is that when she does go, it will be what she wanted. It's when you don't want to go yet, but you pop your clogs, it's a bit of a bugger.
But I can't get my head round the idea that someone actually wants to go, if thy aren't actually in unbearable pain.. I feel sorry for my Mrs who goes almost daily to try and cheer her up.
Dont get the whole "I want to go when im +100" idea. There is no way , when you're that old, that you can fully take care of yourself with no help whatsoever. I rather be dead than have someone change my diaper , in all honesty. I hope I go before that.As I come upto retirement even though I will be relatively young at 53 my daughter will only be 10, I’d like to think I’d see grandkids, my gran died at the age of 100 last year and my mum is still going strong at 72, she’s definitely got her genes, so you never know. Ive seen enough death in the last 20 years some in the worst ways possible that i know you could walk out the door and boom you’re gone. I hope I get to go in my sleep peacefully at 110 and not some shit cancer way, horrible fucking disease.
You should watch this video , its short. Also you should search Alan Watts on youtube and listen to his lectures , they might help you a lot.I'm terrified and always will be.
My grandma was fine up until a few months before she went mate.Dont get the whole "I want to go when im +100" idea. She was a lucky case then. Many people are unable to take care of themselvs when they turned 80+ let alone near 100 or past itMy grandma was fine up until a few months before she went mate.
I do apologise but I am reading that as you are currently able to change your own diaper but when that ceases to be possible then you have had enough. Please tell me that isn't the case. :-)Dont get the whole "I want to go when im +100" idea. There is no way , when you're that old, that you can fully take care of yourself with no help whatsoever. That's just your ASSumption. Then again , you're free to have fantasiesI do apologise but I am reading that as you are currently able to change your own diaper but when that ceases to be possible then you have had enough. Please tell me that isn't the case. :-)
That’s mostly because people never do a moment’s exercise again for the rest of their life after turning 30 (some from the day of their last PE lesson at school!).She was a lucky case then. Many people are unable to take care of themselvs when they turned 80+ let alone near 100 or past it

I agree BUT genetics are also involved. Not everyone is 'designed' to reach a certain age in good health. That’s mostly because people never do a moment’s exercise again for the rest of their life after turning 30 (some from the day of their last PE lesson at school!).
Humans are idiots, why they don’t look after themselves throughout life to the point they can’t look after themselves in old age is ridiculous.
My Grandad didn’t retire from his job as a removals man until he was 75, and is still going strong at 85.
Fauja Singh was still doing marathons after he turned 100

I know lads in their 20s who’d barely able to run for a bus.
Yep, had similar conversation a couple of years ago when you could find a doctor, health starting going downhill, said to him I tend to look after my health and surprised I'm failing in a few departments, he just replied..I agree BUT genetics are also involved. V good. Chapeau. That's just your ASSumption. Then again , you're free to have fantasies
Mate as soon as I get to that stage Switzerland beckons for me.She was a lucky case then. Many people are unable to take care of themselvs when they turned 80+ let alone near 100 or past it
Hopefully this country will have it's act together by then, and one-way trips to Switzerland will be a thing of the past.Mate as soon as I get to that stage Switzerland beckons for me.
