City won 4-0 at Maine Road against West Ham.

I had been to games before that but don't remember them, I remember this one because my Grandad pointed out Bobby Moore and told me not to forget him as he was captain when England won the World Cup, i was only 4 years old.

We went on to win a double that season as well, the first time an English club had won two cups in one season.

What is your earliest City memory?

I am sure somebody must have seen Peter Doherty, my grandad loved him,

Mines Norwich I think in 73 my only real memory is getting a bollocking for throwing sweets at away supporters, oh how I’ve matured over the years :-)))
First away was dippers 81 league cup SF with my sister boyfriend, I had some rough edges back then, not the sophisticated gentleman I’ve turned into.

79/80 playing Crystal Palace at home. Sat on the white wall at the front of the Kippax. Wagon wheel seller at half time.

Going to the 81 cup final and getting a flag. At 10 years old and 100,000 crowd. Still got the flag and got it framed and hung up.

my first memory although i had been to earlier games was a derby game when allenby chilton got sent off,In those days you had to remove an opponents leg before you even got booked.I recall a set to with Dave Ewing what a gent he was Sat in the main stand with my dad as proud as punch.Long before we even had floodlights, and the salvation army used to march up and down the pitch at half time, may all be in my head but it was my first memory of the blues

Wow, we didn't get floodlights until the 50s, so fair play to you Sir.

My Grandad, who is long dead now bless him, saw us at Hyde Road. He was there when the King watched us play. For those who think that was Colin Bell, it wasnt it was the actual King, George V in 1920

A quote from Google

"In March 1920 Hyde Road became the first provincial ground to be visited by a reigning monarch when King George V attended City's victory over Liverpool. He did this because he knew it would be a great way to meet a large number of Mancunians as City remained Manchester's number one club despite United's move to Old Trafford in 1910"
