Decent shoes

Alden shell cordovan if you want ring the bell

Barkers if youve a job interview

Mephisto for smarr casual

If your feet run hot then clarks are simulated leather nowadays and the two dont marry well
Shell Cordovan leather is lovely to look at with nice patinas and polishes amazingly. However, I'm a bit of a tree-hugger and using horses to make shoes with and/or to eat kind of doesn't seem right. No problems with cows though! Lol.

You could also argue that useing-up young road-kill and such like was very green...cordavon certainly trumps gortex for waterproofing.

I have a nice pair of Trickers Malton, had them 20 years, originally Leather soles but now I send them to the Shoe Healer in Doncaster and he puts some belting rubber soles on, Topy they're called.
I think they cost me £250 but now they're around £400 but still good value considering the miles I've walked in them.
Have also got Barkers and Loakes but the Trickers are my favourites.

Another mention for Lanx, I've met the lad who started the business, he does the Artisan markets that visit plenty of North west towns, I was planning to get a pair of his boots at some point, hopefully when the markets start up again I'll catch up with him, the quality of his gear is really good for the price. I think my only reservation was he didn't have half sizes at the time, all my others are 9&1/2.

Thanks guys for the responses so far. Been some fabulous shoes recommended. It's a nightmare choosing but I am enjoying just looking at the nice styles out there.
I've been watching some great shoe shine videos by The Elegant Oxford on YouTube. They're really relaxing to watch and waste ten minutes or so of lockdown time.

I like a nice desert boot myself, got some lovely brogue boots, but I don't wear them enough to break them in ,so when I do wear them they can be a little uncomfy ,as for my Chelsea boots, fuck me they can cripple me for weeks, trainers for day to day ,im in my 50s, desert boots for casualout and about, chelsea boots or brogues for smart, and at the moment its flipflops all the way

Now I'm in my 50s I thought it was time to ditch the Adidas Originals as a constant and smarten myself up a bit. After a really smart pair of shoes to wear with smart dark jeans and a shirt for going to pubs restaurants etc when they're back open that is. That being so got my eye on some Allen Edmonds 'Strands' but at £350 they're a bit on the steep side. Not sure on the sole either. Might need to go for a dainite rubber sole rather than the leather as per the Strands as leather soles are slippy as fuck!
Any ideas shoe fans?
Vibram 1.5mm non-slip sole will make these last forever and you won't go on your arse. £25 fitted. https://www.facebook.com/radcliffemarkethall/?ref=bookmarks
