Declan Rice

Can't imagine Rice would be happy to sit on the bench as Rodri's backup and I can't imagine we'd be willing to spend the sort of money West Ham would want for him. Not to mention the fact that we'd have to move Phillips on if we would be after Rice and that in itself could prove to be a challenge.
Rice could fill 3 roles at least in the new system, when we say bench, he'll still see 30-40 games I expect with injuries and rotation

He definitely needs to move on from WHU to a team with more potential but I don't think that he is the right fit for us and would cost money that would be better spent on Bellingham who has a higher ceiling.
I can see him at Arsenal where he would be a good fit with their more dynamic wingers.

And then you'd have a settling in period for Rice, which means Rodri is again played to death next year.
I trust Pep to make the right decisions on this area.

Perfect for the dippers, probably priced too high for them though. Not a good fit for us

Hopefully Arsenal pay £100m+ for him. It will shatter any illusion they can't compete financially, and it's not a signing that would worry me at all.

West Ham can buy Phillips for what we paid and everyone can agree it was a move that just didn't work out, he can get back to starting every week for Euro 2024.

I hope so :)

Me too. They'd be mad. They already have Partey who is superior (alleged trouble aside) and I dont see Rice being effective further up the pitch in Xhakas role. He'd be a 100m bench player unless hes converted to CB.
