Declan Rice

A one season rivalry that, easy to say now, I enjoyed. The specter of losing a title battle to Liverpool or United weighs much heavier. Midway through the season we all doffed our collective caps to Arsenal’s near perfect form. The fact he can survive on here shows we are mainly a decent tolerant bunch
I think it shows deep down all city fans know arsenal don't have the bollocks to actually finish the job. A club fully built in Arsen Wenger's image

I don’t hate the guy but personally I don’t get why an Arsenal fan would voluntarily register and post at a City fan forum
If you recall, just prior to our FA Cup meeting, BM was crawling with em! We were woefully out of form & they were several points ahead & flying, so they wanted to join (in peace), just to talk (rub it in our faces, but in a nice way).

Anyone remember the blabber mouth Yankee Arse fan? Where's he gone?

They were ALL politely largeing it up (expecting a win), but got sat on their arses when we beat them.

Then their true colours (intensions) started to seep through!

1. We played our second string

2. City played their strongest team

3. Wait until the PL game at the Emirates

We then dry bummed them at the Emirates, where Martin "Zidane" Ødegaard became Martin "Who?".

The vast majority of them slithered back under the slimy rocks from whence they came, only to crawl back out to demand we drop our reported interest in Declan Rice, because it'd be unfair on the rest of Europe if we got him!

I'd love Rice here anyway, but this makes me want him even more!

Funny thing though... When the crucial 6 pointer title decider at the Etihad was on the horizon, they were ALL conspicuous by their absence, silence & lack of faux praise. Fuck em! \0/

Part of me thinks “why do we need him?”.
Hes not as good as rodders, and stones is a mammoth of a player, but yeah … if we van get him we should and be interesting to see peps plans.
I can see a whole new way and a whole new chore 11 coming up

COME ONNNNN

I'm definitely keen on this move. We add a guy who is a top player who has never won the PL or the CL because of the club he plays at so he will be super hungry to do well and will listen to every word Pep says. This deal reminds me of the Jack Grealish deal when we signed him from Villa. He'll give us so much energy in the midfield and will be a mainstay in the team for the next 10 years.

why do we need him for? too expensive to backup rodri
Plus with Stones’ role now, it would be a silly signing this one. Stones is now ready to play in Rodri’s position on his own when we need to give Rodri a rest and they can play together in the big games. We also have Phillips who will undoubtedly be better next season if he stays with us.

We need a creative, tempo setting, attacking midfielder who plays between the lines and is hard to get the ball off and a right winger, or someone who can play in attacking mid and right wing; we do not need a third Rodri/Stones type player.

We need to move Foden into attacking midfield for this, not sign someone like Rice. Foden is Gündoğan’s replacement. Foden is going to take a step up as a player over the next few years and is going to be immense by the time he gets to his prime (26-29). Also because he didn’t play a great deal from his appendix op onwards this season, he’s going to be like a new signing next season.

Look at Foden’s assist for Álvarez for the fourth goal against Madrid… Or the turn and burst of pace into the box like Phil’s chance in the CL final (he should have scored, mind)… that’s the sort of player we need to be starting in our team, threading passes like that through to the forwards and creating havoc with skill.

Then we need to look at de Bruyne’s replacement next Summer.

Kovacic can take Foden’s squad player role from the second half of this season and can be in rotation for Rodri/Stones/Phillips n’all.

West Ham apparently about to bid for Palhinha at Fulham. Doesn't look like Kalvin can be used as a makeweight. All the rumours are Kalvin doesnt want to leave. I was always sceptical about that happening. Players swaps deals are complex as it adds another dimension and variable to what is already a complicated saga.

Ive always said whoever wants Rice will need to do an all cash deal. West Ham will take the money and pick their own targets.

If we offer 101m, that will be the benchmark any other suitor will need to match.

Gamesmanship by West Ham. The Phillips + cash for Rice deal has mountains between it. One, Phillip has given strong indication he doesn't want to leave Manchester. Equally strong indication Rice doesn't want to leave London, and this would have been solidified by the arrival of his newborn a few months ago. I can just imagine his chav missus insisting on a London stay. ''No Deccy no, Manchester dont have a harrods''

How many more days can pass without you making a bid before it becomes obvious to all that West Ham are telling a story. 'bidding war' the Hammer say. BS, Chelsea have moved on, United moved on, and I dont think you guys are interested, a combination of Rice not being a necessity and the fact there is a real belief Rice desire to remain in London is very real, whilst your makeweight also doesn't want to leave. 'Rice would be crazy not to want to move to Man City'. Well then why would Kalvin leave? Because he wants to play more and be a more integral member of the squad............can say the same about Rice & Arsenal.

If we follow up with a 101m bid, it will likely be the biggest offer West Ham get for Rice. Im talking real terms too. Not a hypothetical 110m offer, comprising 60m cash & Kalvin valued internally by City at 50m.
It comes down to two things:

1) Do we want him at the price he'd be available at? No one here knows the definitive answer to that.
2) Does he want to come to us and fill his trophy room with medals or stay in London and probably finish his career with the one trophy he's already won, as your lot had your chance last season and proved you've got the same balls for it as Spurs. Next season, you'll be below Chelsea, Liverpool and the rags as well i.e. back outside the top 4.

Think I'll go and join an Arsenal forum and post something. Oh wait, that would make me look like a right nonce who shouldn't be allowed within 100 yards of a school.
