Declan Rice

That’s a good question… I had a knife “incident” this morning with my packed lunch!

I shouldn’t jest on such serious subject matter but it’s a surprising stat and I’m not sure I believe it tbh.

Looks to be from Table p5.

I can't recall where I saw the initial table but there's an interactive graphic on this link:

Possibly out of date information now, but like I said, it's not a great pissing contest.

Sorry, I see the London local news on most days, and not Manchester's, it was only meant as a bit of a joke comment, sorry if it ofended.
It'd be ironic if you got stabbed tonight. (Especially if by a cleaver)

He’s the one I want for CB to partner Laporte.

Pep would make him a monster.
As the OP of this thread, I wanted him 3 years ago but things have changed a lot in our team since then.

I actually rate Rice as a holding midfielder HOWEVER, we already have Rodri who’s the worlds best in that role and Phillips who like most players under Pep will improve tremendously in his second year and he is on record as saying he’s going nowhere.

So my question is simple…

Where does he actually fit into this team ?

Sorry mate, I was about to delete the message, because I knew it was harsh… just on the wind-up. You make good points pal, but I just don’t see it as straight forward as you do. There’s all sorts of factors that come into play for a player choosing their next step and simply being the most successful club, with the best manager, isn’t the only thing to be considered… and the idea that if a players turns down said club, then they lack ambition or mental fortitude etc, that I think is raggish.

Fair enough. Like I said, I don’t think we have a divine right to get him just because we want him (which would be raggish) but instead think we’re a more attractive option to players.

I get it’s not a straight forward decision because of family etc. but also think the mentality we have in this squad (Dias, Rodri) wouldn’t give a shit about where they live as long as they win trophies and that’s what makes us successful.

I wouldn’t judge him if he decided to go to Arsenal but I also wouldn’t lose sleep if he did because he wouldn’t, in my opinion at least, have that same killer mentality that we’ve built. Yet anyway.
