If we hadn't won/looked like winning the CL it would have been interesting to see what we would have been prepared to do.
Hard to criticise when we've achieved what we have but it does seem we don't like to go for the jugular from an advantageous position and don't mind rivals getting boosts and strengthening considerably. Taking our foot off.


It's like - here you go Pep even more pressure to improve everyone. He's like a get out of jail card for the club.

Yep - gutted we didn't get this over the line. Think we'll regret it.

If he plays a big part in Arsenal staying in the top four every year of his contract then he's worth at £100m to them.

Who said we're spending 400 mil? I said we could if we wanted and still be OK for FFP. I'm a CPA and was a fiscal director for 25 years. Did well enough to retire early and come on here and fuck about with you all. : )

Of course. It's an investment, and like any investment, something of a gamble and, in this case, a bloody big one. But only an imbecile would judge his value to Arsenal before knowing the outcome. They used to do that with Grealish, and they were proved very, very foolish.
 
The squad needs an overhaul to keep things fresh. As it stands we've signed an average footballer in Kovacic who is nowhere near Gundogan's level.

We need an elite midfielder in the middle of the park.

I think Gvardiol will be excellent, but the squad needs to shake more. We have two summers of Pep left, we can't leave the next guy with an ageing squad that needs surgery.
