Declan Rice

£105million is being touted now so are Arsenal in that sort of league to pay them sort of money for one player that really is not in the world-class bracket that sits at the top league with the rest,

Don't get me wrong Rice is a very good player in his role, but are we saying he's up there with the rodri's of this world,
I would price Rodri at them sorts of figures being splashed around for Rice, City need to walk away and look elsewhere

I agree about Rodri, but Rice is English and 3 years younger. That explains a lot. Plus, Pep can make him a lot better than he is now.

Think if this gets accepted, we'd match IF Rice asked us to and we knew he'd choose us. We wouldn't match it without assurances.
And Arseal made the offer last night without assurances?

Cuts both ways. Why is your due diligence considered more concrete than ours.

It’s not my money so I shouldn’t really give a toss but 100m+ just seems fucking stupid to me.

Kalvin Philips + 50m and a bag of jellied eels to the cockneys, take it or fuck off, see ya later.

And Rice either wants to 100% come here or he doesn’t. I’m not having any of this “open to a move, hedging my bets” shite.

I think the question to ask would be what does declan rice bring , does he make us slightly better? maybe, does he turn arsenal into title contenders, i doubt it. The confidence that arsenal have on the back of two thirds of a good season is insane. Arsenal quite simply had a leicester season and the only difference is leicester got it over the line and arsenal didnt, the reason this is even a conversation is that those muppets on aftv have managed to parlay their little rants into a legitimate sports business and are now pushing this agenda that arsenal are back where they should be yadda yadda, last four seasons they have finished 8th, 8th, 5th and 2nd, now some will say thats an upward trend, i say thats an anomaly of a season. Rice may well go to arsenal and more power to him if he does but the only argument that arsenal makes for him going there is that he gets in their team every week but he doesnt get in ours and if thats the mentality that he has then he shouldnt be at city. My god if we were talking about signing a young spanish or french midfielder from a team anywhere but england that had finished 14th for figures north of 100m the world would rightly say we wed gone mad
They are losing Xhaka & probably Partey & if they pay £170m for Havertz & Rice, that doesn't seem much of an upgrade to me. Rice is a very good player but will he be able to do the dirty work on his own in a more offensive team.

We are likely to bid. Guess we knew from the start that only 100m+ would do it. We know we have to pay English tax. It's vital for the club to have top English players.
Nail on the head. The Premier League is the Serie A of old. I remember when AC Milan bought Gianluigi Lentini for a record fee - GBP13m - in 1992 (that didn't end well!).
