Rice edges it as he does have similar qualities to John Stones.Best let pep know your scouting then ;)
....I didn't and wouldn't suggest buying him, I just think he offers W Ham more than Rice, ie Rice is even more limited ;)

Prefer Potatoes.
We can’t be spending money on luxuries. I’d like Grealish. LolExactly. Current prices dictate that we can’t be spending big money on luxuries. Striker first and that will break our transfer record.
I’d like Grealish but how much will that cost?
Not sure what you see, Stones is a class above Rice, I don't think Rice stands out in WH team, if he was anything more than just decent he would rise above like Grealish does at Villa.....I would say Mount stands out more in a far better Chelsea team than Rice does at WH.......all opinions though ;)Rice edges it as he does have similar qualities to John Stones.
Liverpool rated Ibe above Sterling!!!! lol
Similar qualities, both comfortable on the ball but not quite good enough to play in midfield, and they were (or are) still at similar level clubs before they were linked and in Stones case signed for us. As I said earlier in the thread if John Stones hadn't of showed signs he was still capable of playing in the team and he really wanted out I wouldn't of minded Rice joining us last summer. Not sure what you see, Stones is a class above Rice, I don't think Rice stands out in WH team, if he was anything more than just decent he would rise above like Grealish does at Villa.....I would say Mount stands out more in a far better Chelsea team than Rice does at WH.......all opinions though ;)
Doesnt mean I'd want Mount either!
It's standard with all clubs fans, sell your better players and convince anyone that will listen that what your left with is better!I must have had a hundred Spuds fans (loads round here) tell me that Trippier is better than Walker?
I drive my wife and kids crazy. lolI love Dad jokes
For me its a no brainer, Pep takes him to another level & can easily fill in as CH for any reason, he has quick feet can pass & not frightened putting his body on the lineA really top player and only getting better.
His price is huge, but I think one day he will become a top centre half.
I'd take him in a heartbeat, can never have enough good players, especially if Fern and then Gundo step down.

Yes I know mate, a point I mentioned many many years ago on here when he was younger and when the arse and rags (amongst others) were looking at him, what it did though was develop his all round awareness of the game, especially in a positional/organisational sense, it made him a better leader and a better centre back as a result, I can see Rice making a similar transition.Vinny was always a centre back though before he came to City. Just Hughes used him there for a season probably because we had very limited options.
Tbf Walker-Peters is probably better than both of Spurs’ current right backs nowadaysNot to mention Kyle Walker Peters!
So, what's Hampton like as a place, guys? It's standard with all clubs fans, sell your better players and convince anyone that will listen that what your left with is better!
My mate's a spuds fan....he told me Walker-Peters was better than both, then they flogged him soon after to Southampton lol
It’s a no brainer. He’s a quality player with years ahead of him. Could end up being better than rodri
he’s not a centre back though. There seems to be a slight obsession with turning midfielders in centre backs at the minute
I agree.
While playing centre half wouldnt faze him,his midfield prowess would obviously be wasted. In a team that provides him with more time on the ball,he would be even more influential than the very high levels he has cemented in an average West Ham team.
As i keep saying, the only issues would be his challenge to Rodri and subsequent potential squad disruption/disharmoney.I suspect it would be Rodders who would 'lose',as well as EDS talent emerging.
We aint going to spend 60-70 million on a DM when our amortisation and wage costs are sky rocketing as it is.someone will always lose out. We pretty much have two top class players for every position now. And your right some brilliant youngsters coming through
