Declan Rice

All we have heard is Rice want to go to arsenal. Arsenal are dragging their heels hence WHU encourage city to bid knowing it will force arsenals hand to give WHU what they want and that Rice will choose arsenal.

I hope I’m wrong I think he’s a decent player and will do well with us and will stop arsenal getting stronger. But in the long run I think WHU and Rice know that arsenal will pay up and both the player and club are using city to speed up the process
im sure every club in world football would invite city to bid to drive up the price, but we will only except that invitation IF WE WANT THE FUCKING PLAYER, fucking think what you are saying for fucks sake

City don't piss about reacting to others' moves imo. We put in an initial bid following confirmed interest from the player and then put in a final take it or leave it bid that we deem fair. If the player wants to come it will be done.

Interesting take!

But surely if Rice only wants Arsenal, and Arsenal know this as clearly as is being suggested, they would just sit tight on their current offer and wait it out until West Ham’s resolve weakens as time to find a replacement starts to run out.

There’s absolutely no benefit whatsoever from Rice’s perspective to force his new club into needlessly overpaying for him (a move I’m sure they’d be absolutely delighted with him for!), as that will limit how much they can then offer him in turn on wages/bonus, etc.

Going to the trouble of lying to City to pretend he wants to join us, and seriously pissing his new club off by making them overpay for him, seems like an absolutely bizarre way to go about getting his dream move!

We wouldn't bid for a player who indicated he preferred a rival club over ours. All these Arsenal fans deluding themselves.

Seriously we wouldn't bother with rice as we demand 100% desire and hunger to play here as that's what it takes to win it all. Pep don't take sloppy seconds

This is very wrong.

Rice isn’t trying to hold anyone to an auction for his services, he wants to go to the first big team to show they are seriously in for him.

It’s a case of HIM not wanting to be sloppy seconds.

That is about the dumbest comment I've seen for a while.

Why would we help out Arteta and Arsenal?

That is some very strange logic.

That comment alone should be enough to keep her away from television coverage (skysports, BBC, ITV etc).

True but she would probably claim that she was not employed for " other reasons ", rather than outright stupidity, or ability.

Think she has a history of such claims previously.

Off topic, that Eni will be very popular on talk sport. Know why? She’s so fucking stupid people will listen, share and like the idiot. They’ll call in to tell her how wrong she is. Meanwhile talks port producers and her will be laughing to the bank.
Don’t watch, don’t share, don’t talk about her and people like that will disappear. But unfortunately the unwashed masses don’t want insightful commentary any more they want to be angry , and she’s great at it.

On topic I hope we get rice just to wind the world up.

Wrong on every level.

He will have made it clear to us that he wants to join but at the same time he won't publicly say that in case a deal with West Ham can't be reached, so he has an escape plan to the Arse ;)

He will clearly be leaving West Ham this summer.

There is no way we are wasting our valuable time on a deal when we are not sure the player will be ours, pre season is a couple of weeks away.

Why? Surely if the clubs know the magic number between them, really doesn't matter whose 'turn' it is to bid, City can just get it agreed whenever it suits.

We don't know the magic number, let Arsenal try to find it.

You don't bid against yourself on the same day you had one rejected.

Arsenal have been working on a deal for months.

We made our first call to his people this morning.

For him to come here we have to show we are serious by moving fast now.

Because Arsenal might not bid again knowing the Rice is perfectly happy to play for Pep and the European Champions

All this shite about them preparing a bid is speculation

Why bid again if you’re the only show in town

Hence why all at Arsenal are gutted, they have been blown out of the water and they know it well and for the second time in a couple of months.

They though they had rice in the bag, just like the PL . LOL

That’s true I suppose never thought of it that way

Can't know that he'd go to the first team, he has 2 very different options and must prefer one over the other. If both get bids accepted he'd have to choose. It's not a leap to assume the clubs know, or at least think they know his preference.
