Assuming Zinchenko and Bravo leave in the summer (muric becoming our second keeper) and we bring in a DM and Ben Chillwell at LB will Delph want to leave?

I mean the writing would be on the wall for him wouldn't it?..

Yeah I could see Delph and Otamendi leave this summer, along with Zinchenko, Mangala, Bravo(?).

You can smell the frustration on here missing out on De Jong. The player choose the club he supported like his dad does and like half the Dutch nation does. We can’t and won’t get any player mentioned as a potential target. It’ll be a huge step for De Jong. Time will tell if he can do it on a long term basis.

Anyways looking back over the last few years and in contrast to the decades before than, whenever we bring a player in he seems to fit in just fine. Some take a bit longer than others but we hardly see a misfit in our squad. And there is more fish in the sea. Plenty. It’s not about the player. It’s about can he fit in the way we play making the ones around him tick.

I was always I interested in players rumoured. Not anymore so. Most is rubbish journalism. Some are because agents use our name to drive up the price tag. A few are targets up until the moment they rather choose to earn a bit more somewhere else. Yet the ones who really wanna play for us and are deemed good enough will join or have actually done so.

We cannot just let players go like this for too long. Like jorginho, de jong. In the long run it might harm us. We need a good DMF. There aren't any more good players in that position not along their availability. Who should we go for now? At least i am not sure.

We will find the right player to fill the role. No one does what Ferny does but you have to remember even he wasn't this good when we signed him and he was about 28 then.

Get someone in with the raw attributes to develop and learn from Ferny and give him time. De Jong is a different player. He doesn't have the same drive forward that Fernandinho has but is more a Busquets type player who would have still been excellent.

Ndombele has raw attributes that makes me think he could be our man. He is quick, composed and can play a pass. His positioning etc might not be as good but that will come with time.

Has anyone seen much of Gomes? How is he getting on in the role with the academy?
