That's the intrigue - no one knows exactly what type of player Pep is going to integrate next. Personally doubt that it's going to be another 'Dinho', still wouldn't be surprised if Pep decides to continue with this, more tenacious version of 'pivot'.I said it on his thread and will again here, there are many players who can do what Dihno does and do it well. It will probably take them some time to learn the system and Pep's ways.
Dihno is great, but he is not uniquely talented. Not by a mile. There are lots of players with similar skillset who can do his job well. And there are those with different skills who might well do it differently but better.
Fingers crossed for the Ajax kid. That's the intrigue - no one knows exactly what type of player Pep is going to integrate next. Personally doubt that it's going to be another 'Dinho', still wouldn't be surprised if Pep decides to continue with this, more tenacious version of 'pivot'.
Fernandinho is hardly a giantToo short for a pivot, need someone taller to screen the defence.
Seems even on here fernandinho is underrated. I cant think of many players who could do the job he does and be as consistant as he has been over the past few years.I said it on his thread and will again here, there are many players who can do what Dihno does and do it well. IMO it's other way round - City players get seriously overrated as the system hides their weak points. Dinho isn't a wordclass player, the credit for his performances should go to Pep first and foremost. Did you think of Dinho as of elite midfielder during Pellegrini era?Seems even on here fernandinho is underrated.
