Dele Alli

What would we even do with him? He's a central attacking midfielder, something we already have coming out our ears. We already shoehorn Kev and Dave into the team and they are a hell of a lot more versatile than Ali, fuck knows where he'd play.

He does look like the new Lampard though, scores a lot of goals for midfielder, but like Lampard, doesn't offer all that much other than goals. Doesn't do that much defensively, doesn't create anything like as much as a Silva or Eriksen type, but he will pop up in the right place and take his chances. I think he'll be a very successful premier league player, but I don't know what we'd do with him. I'd much rather concentrate on the positions we need, rather than give ourselves selection headaches signing players in positions we already have our best players in.

I`ve said before in this thread that we WILL be getting a virtually new defence. That doesn`t stop us from looking elsewhere in other positions even if it is in an area that WE think we`re well off in.Pep loves midfielders, something he`s admitted to.It wouldn`t shock me if we go for him,but I also wont be disappointed if he`s not for sale.Think its rather unfair to say he doesn`t create anything like Silva ... who does ? Dave will be here for another 2/3 years I reckon and I wouldn`t swap him for any player.

That is the position we need least, I honestly don't see the point at all. Any move that makes it harder for us to play Kev in his proper position is a bad move in my book. (Silva is already obscenely good "backup" in that position and we have an absolute prodigy in Brahim waiting in the wings)

Another pacey winger to compliment Sterling and Sane would be top of my attacking wish list, to go with an entire new defence and one or even two proper midfield players (players who control the game from deep, not attacking midfielders). As far as my thinking, it's like some peoples continued obsession with Isco. It's a shit load of money for an undeniably great player who wouldn't really even get in our starting 11, when we have so many places that desperately need bolstering.

I read an article in one of last weeks papers suggesting that he would have a £200M transfer purse. Not certain thats enough to be honest, but I suppose that depends how much we get for some of those outgoers. This mornings papers suggest that WHU would take both Sagna and Zabs. We`ll lose quite a bit on Mangoman and make big savings on salaries for those in their final year.
Going to be a very interesting summer.

I am hoping for a fun summer, but even if we had £200m, then spending half of it on Ali would be madness imo. If the circumstances were different I wouldn't be dead set against it, but given that we already have Kev, along with needing reinforcements in so many other areas, it's a complete non-starter for me.

Fingers crossed this is finally the summer when I can stop complaining about how on earth we still have Clichy and Kolarov as our leftback options!
