Agent says he wants to fight for his place under Pelligrini...

"Right now, Denis is focused on the pre-season with City," said Gende. "He has to play, obviously, but he just wants to succeed with City."

He added: "His future at City will depend on their new coach, Manuel Pellegrini. He's excited to play under him, as the system suits him a bit better in comparison to [Roberto] Mancini, who was more conservative.

"He wants to do well at City, but if the new coach doesn't like the look of him, maybe then we'll have to consider a loan move if there's anything interesting. We already know that several teams in Spain could be interested in loaning him."

It's interesting this, and I must say I like the attitude of Denis if this statement is true.

I think the whole academy have been informed they have never had a better opportunity to break into the first team now Txiki has made it paramount that the EDS is the future of the club.

Pellegrini and Viera will be working in tandem no doubt next season.

Really lookin forward to pre-season this year... gonna be a good indicator of things to come. Can still see Denis goin on loan for a year but hopefully with a shiny new City contract.

Think you will be right. Nowhere near ready for first team football at the top of the premier league... Its a big year for him. go on loan and make an impression somewhere, or the writing is on the wall I fear...

Needs to be stronger on the ball and he does have his odd stroppy moment on the pitch, hopefully that will come and also go with age.

I agree, It will come in time mate.

I would rather he develop and master his technique first then he can start getting macho, I still think in England the whole not strong enough debate at youth level is well over the top, Barca's kids are mostly not all big lads, look how Messi looked when he broke through.

Technique over strength is the most improtant aspect at youth level.

"footballer to athlete rather than athlete to footballer"

You can always get that extra bit quicker and stronger but unless technique is natural or developed at a young age its hard to 'learn'.

Re: Denis Suarez

He seemed quite upset last year with not being able to play in the first team. But now with Pellegrini coming in hopefully, he will probably get the chance in preseason and we'll see how it goes from then on.

Really hoping for Lopes to get more minutes next season too

Also Jose Angel Pozo. He does certainly know how to dribble and score consistently for such a young player.

Both physically and mentally developing kids,of course their opportunities will be greater this coming season, however,a loan may be preferential for both as regards progress.

Yes, true. But I think the time has come for Denis Suarez to move into the first team squad under Pellegrini. He can then go on a loan if he isn't immediately ready, but the important thing is he is on the bench permanently. He's almost 20 and needs to play to improve now.

Hopefully the next manager can make an Isco out of him...
