Derby Post Match

ROCK ON!!!

Unfortunately living in US, I have to make do with watching on NBC-SN. Was with wife and kids. When Smalling was sent off, she said "now just watch United get all the calls". Fuck was she right. We'd have been better off not having Smalling dismissed, as I am nigh certain we'd have got at least 2 of those 3 penalties. And all 3 were way more clearcut that Hazard's yesterday. It's like we start 1 goal down in every game.

I seem to be in the minority, but I thought we played really well in the most part. Lot of intensity and much more secure at the back against one of the best front lines in the league. In fact, I don't see a lot wrong with what we've done the past 4 games. We are controlling possession and creating chances; the one thing is we've lost our touch in front of goal.

Toss up for Man of the Match for UTD, DeGea or Oliver????
If we'd had an impartial ref who didn't try to even out our penalty haul for the season, and UTD didn't have such a great keeper, this would've been another humiliation.
That UTD had a spell, well, for the most expensive starting 11 in a Manchester derby ever, I should bloody think so!!!
Gutted I missed the game, it was the wife's birthday, and had to take her out for the day , I had to avoid any sneaky looks at the phone, so I only told her when we got home that I'd missed the derby to take her out.. Brownie points!!! This makes up for sitting thru that turgid display on Wednesday !!!!! Just opening my first tinny of the evening now.....
How many beers is the little wifey letting you have?

Thank goodness we didn't waste 60 million on Di Maria, total crap, must have wished he had joined the blues. Same old rags, route one and kicking lumps out of the opposition. Wiggy trying to intimidate the ref who was already wearing a red shirt.

If Clichy could play like that every week there would not be any need to go looking for a left back, easily the best player in a blue shirt today, handled a dangerous player like Di Maria with ease as well as providing a great attacking platform down the left

I agree with you but he was helped out by having Milner playing in front of him, which Kolerov gets every time but for some reason Gael rarely does. Great game today though.

Agreed and that's why Milner starts every week ahead of Nasri for me!!

I think he'd be quality in our team. They hoof it up to Fellaini so he is going to look shit

Any decent pics of the display in the North Stand?

I normally think tifos are a bit lame and forced, and sometimes the message is wrong ("Blue Moon" last season against Barça, wasn't right for me...we're Manchester City not Blue Moon) but today, that was the best we've ever had!

Nice one, guys!

Would it be advisable to watch MOTD tonight? I've heard about the pro-utd refereeing, but I've also heard about them applying decent pressure while down to 10. I don't want to listen to the muppets if they're gonna focus on the latter, rather than what the whole country has been suspicious of for years. Was the refereeing SO bad that they'll have to address it?

I'll probably just watch the highlights and swerve the propaganda afterwards, like usual.

How bad was that, particularly in the first half. And credit to the person who showed him in the tunnel at half time still having a go.

For the most part I was really impressed with our performance today. Yaya and Clichy who have had plenty of stick on here recently played great and Vinny and Zabaleta who haven't had stick but have probably deserved some on their recent performances also played really well. The only player I thought who wasn't at the races today was Jovetic.

Mr P is getting lots of stick for the substitutions but as I saw them ready to come on I thought it was bang on. Nasri would hold on to the ball for most of the time and slip the runners through and Dzeko against an unfit and ageing Carrick, and a kid is a massive mismatch. I honestly expected us to torture them at that point.

Why we stopped playing and turned to shit is anyone's guess.

The Referee was an utter disgrace. TV replays show he was more than likely unsighted for the first but he missed another two that were nailed on.

As for United; Shaw did well against Zabs and Navas with no support and Rooney looked lively in patches but for the most part attacking wise it was basic stuff.

Three or four - nil today would have been the correct scoreline from what I saw.

All about opinions isn't it. I thought the substitutions were both wrong and contributed massively to why we "stopped playing". Milner and Jovetic both get about the opposition whereas Nasri and Edin don't. Jovetic was quite lively today and put that great ball through for Yaya which should have been a penalty and a red card.

I sort of understand the idea that Edin might give problems to a weak centre back partnership but you need the ball to do that and we started to lose possession as soon as the 2 players came on.

If they have or want any credibility then they should pick up on the definite 2 blatant penalties, bogs brush head being a dirty fucker, and the fact that the team that lost is the most expensive ever assembled and are languishing in 10th place
