Devante Cole: "City don't care about English kids"

Someone called Jamie Jackson from the Manchester Evening News was just interviewed on the radio about the comments of Devante Cole. Amazingly all he said was that he couldn't really believe that City were against English players....what a pathetic response. Surely he should have quoted the figures posted earlier on this thread about the number of English players in the CFA and England internationals. It would have been good to educate these outsiders who love to criticise City with the proper facts about what is actually going on. But he offered absolutely nothing and yet he is supposed to be an expert on what is going on at City....what a waste of space he is.
If it was talksport then i told them those figures yesterday, they choose to ignore them unsurprisingly

Think Jackson is from the telegraph or guardian as manc correspondent. He's not the sharpest tool in the box. He was actually quite positive compared to his usual anti city tripe. Still a red tosser though

You seem quite agitated about my opinion.

We're talking about an 8 minute sub appearance. I wanted Barker to make his debut, instead of Garcia getting a second cameo appearance. Based on the fact he is yet to make his debut despite having more squad inclusions than Garcia, and doing far more in the EDS than Manu ever has.

Is this not the point? The club see more than we do. Pellegrini will see both Garcia & Barker every day. He sees them NOW, not in last season's EDS.
Garcia was chosen to make a second senior appearance, I wouldn't be questioning why Pellegrini chose him over Barker who you rightly say has been much more impressive in the EDS. You should question what Barker isn't doing whilst training with the first that would mean he falls behind a much younger and less physically developed lad.

Barker to me seemed reliant on pace and power to run his man, that pace will not be anywhere near the asset at senior level as it is at youth.

Garcia has looked better in the first team in what I've seen than he has in the EDS. Perhaps we are now, after all these years picking players best suited to our end game.

Barker will get minutes, in my opinion, rightly or wrongly he will get minutes where he can express himself best, thus bumping up his sale value.

I hope I'm wrong, really do, but I doubt Barker will ever be good enough to play for us regularly. Garcia, I personally see a future, maybe just maybe.

Hiwula and Devante Cole were ahead of Iheancho in terms of EDS experience and goals, yet the club rushed through Kelechi.

I think this illustrates the point. Playing well for the EDS is one thing but the managers and coaches at the club will know a good player when they see one and what we see as fans is probably not even 10% of what they see (in terms of working with them every day and watching all the games).

I have 100% faith that the right opportunities are given to the right players, I would only like to see more opportunity given to the players coming through. That however is easy to say as a fan and after a win– the pressure in football management is immense. Everything but a win is a big setback even in the tin pot cup and there are a lot of senior players who also need time on the pitch. It’s easy to say we should give more time to youth after a big win but you can guarantee that fans of Chavs, Rags and the Arse are not debating youth football issues this week.

Jamie Jackson is a rag, doesn't even try to conceal his allegiances. He's also a tinpot journo who shouldn't really be qualified to write for the Beano.

If you're relying on him to fight our corner then you're going to be disappointed.

If Cole was good enough he would have broken through but he wasn't. His frustration and lack of opportunity made him start making demands and throwing his toys out of the pram so he went.He could of course be a late developer like his dad and that happens, only time will tell.

Exactly – also if he was good enough, surely there would have been other PL teams sniffing him out... yet he's playing for Bradford... which he likely would have ended up doing if he'd gone to Southampton, Arsenal... etc.

Correct, I always have to laugh when fans seem to think they know better than the coaches at the club who see them day in, day out. I'll probably be labelled a "happy clapper" but I trust the clubs judgement.

A chip off the old block, a pair of empty vessels him and his dad, glad that family no longer has any association with our club
