Dr phoned me today after i had some bloods done and told me my Hb1ac meant I was diabetic. Weirdly he said i'm going to give you chance to get your HB1AC down before i put your diagnosis on record. I gave him my thanks...Then thought...wtf would he do that...i guess my car insurance might take an hit but i'm struggling to work out any other advantages.
My paranoid brain then buts in and reminds me how he hates prescribing life saving and quality of life drugs for my lad(he has complexed gastro endocrine probs and he didn't prescribe something his specialist endocrinologist wrote to him and requested he do(stomach culture targeted antibiotic). So is his reluctance to diagnose really to benefit me or his G.P NHS bonus related pay.
of course he might just be a dick but it seems weird.
