I was truly disgusted at the people singing the Pellegrini song in wembley. I also remember being angry at vassell's name being booed before a game by a lot of people. I think samaras got that too-booed onto the field. I've hear terrible abuse of players back in the 90s too, like edgehill, summerbee, dibble. Dibble being booed every time he touched the ball was bad too.

It's football though. Every club has knobheads.
I used to cringe for Edghill when he was booed. Poor bastard.
Remember a racist remark from the Kippax too one game. Some big bastard in a leather coat and slick back hair, looked like he enjoyed the sun bed. As racist a remark as you could make, which shocked me to be honest, though I was young. A black guy stood not too far away from us took exception, though the racist twat didn't flinch once. TBH that's the only racist shit i've heard at City, which is good. Like you say DD, every club has knobs.
I'd say we have for many years been as un-racist a club as there is, due to the moss side location, number of black players in the 80s and number of black fans.

But I remember one of my first times in the kippax in the mid 80 s and some geezer shouted "you black bastard" and right in front of him a group of black lads turned round, scowled and shut him right up. But like you I can't remember much else racist.
Must have been late 80's r very early 90's the one I heard. I always stood left to the middle of the Kippax as you look at it from the pitch. Saw a few blue on blue scraps too, blues rolling down the concrete steps as they fought, people moving out of the way but not taking their eyes off the game.
Fucking loved those days! (apart from the racist bit, obviously).

Knew I'd open a can of worms!

I've witnessed plenty of things I'd rather not have seen from City supporters. and far worse than singing about Pelle. I was being a tad provocative but the reason I considered it particularly dumb was that it was soooo obvious that Pelle was very, very likely to be our next manager.

I'm not normally given to embarrassment, but this day ran me close.
Was on my way down platt lane with my dad thinking we had lost 5-1 when that happened. To be honest I was more gutted about the defeat than anything else. That one really hurt for several reasons. Luckytoma summed it up beautifully: http://sabotagetimes.com/reportage/my-g ... ster-city/

Lol, I was still at school then in my last year. I still have the Daily Star from the day after which has the headline 'the yobs are back'. Thought it was cool as a silly 15 year old. Not so much 20 years on, (fuck me it really is that long ago).

Haha! Fair play.

It was a bit silly, I agree, but like the"Herman Muster Head" song it'll be a mere historical curiosity, never spoken about, in time to come.

That's why it wound me up too. Everyone knew Mancini was gone and Pelli coming that day. And we had a cup final to play and a team to lift. It was the singing in the ground that was pathetic. I also knew that the players out there on the park who could hear it, and the Mancini ooooaaaah singing, wanted him gone badly. It was hardly going to give them a lift. It also precipitated endless arguing and fighting in the stands because the same beered up bulbs wouldn't sit down.

Hahahaha! I'd forgotten about that. The same guys singing "Herman Munster head" had his name on their shirts 3 months later. Same united fans singing "fergie sign him up" we're singing "who's that twat from Argentina?" A few weeks later.

Football is so fucking pantomime isn't it?

The thing is, the last 6-8 weeks of last season were a bit of a joke on and off the pitch and although hindsight is a wonderful thing, at that point I thought Mancini was being harshly treated. I felt compelled to defend him on here and amongst a few mates who didn't rate him.
I'd rather not spend time arguing with fellow City fans as the era we are now in should be greeted with nothing but positivity. There aren't many things that annoy me enough to give more than a passing thought to but the treatment of our then manager was a subject I felt strongly enough about to get involved in.
