Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance (merged)

Re: Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance

I only remember one error, just before Vincent Kompany cleared off the line. Otherwise, he played as well as Hart could have done. He earns his place. Hart will get a medal by starting on the bench.

Mancini is hardly going to change him for the Final is he was not willing to change him for a Semi against Chelsea, is he?!

Plus, he saved us late on with the claw away from Mata AFTER Mata had taken the "foul me" touch, and the Ba reflex "save."

He does not look overly confident, especially waving at that cross in the First Half but was solid and NEEDS some big game experience.

Mancini's gamble paid off......just.

He can have the final now but next time we play any top side in any competition we should always put out our best 11 possible. Even the league cup, not the Watford's etc just the big boys.

I simply hate defeat. I don't want him to be "nice' .

Difficult decisions but I would argue it was good man management rather than being nice. Maybe RM was playing the longer game by ensuring we keep an able back-up goalie onside and on the books.

This is exactly what he was doing. You can't keep someone like Pantilimon around on 4/6 domestic cup games a season.

Exactly. But i hope he leaves this summer to a top club. He is far too good a keeper to be sitting on the bench most of the time.

Re: Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance

I wonder if people will be interested in Panty in transfer marketing ? I can't see him sticking about for more than one more season especially if there is a bit of interest in him.

Re: Did Pantz do enough to warrant a final appearance

The best back-up goalie in the PL? I suppose you could put Friedel in as a competitor but with his age I doubt he'll be around next season although a newly promoted side couldd o a lot worse than giving Friedel another season.

Pat Jennings played until 42 didn't he?
