Did we really get it wrong?

Ok so a mistake has been made but then again we are still novices at this CL lark. We don't know the rules, that is why we turn up and give the European champions too much respect before starting to play ourselves. We will get a harder game next but so will our opponents. I'm very sure from now on we will know how it works.

Its just fucking weird how much abuse the OP is getting over this.

Its a legitimate talking point - which is extremely frustrating considering the amazing comeback and result we witnessed tonight.

Becoming increasingly clear that Pellegrini, his coaching staff, and all the players were not aware a further goal took us top of the group. If this is so its embarrassing, shambolic, amatuerish in the extreme, and thoroughly baffling.

When you think how much time, preparation, money, expertise and miniscule planning goes into the running of the team and club. For this oversight to occur is truly bizarre.

Reading all the aggressive defenders of this - denying it in most instances or, more strangely, attempting to wave it away as if it doesnt matter - reveals the true depth of supporter bias.
And these posters are probably the same ones kicking off at Sky for their bias. Hypocrites.
Welcome to the BlueMoon way!

This is what I can`t get my around !! If we had scored another goal (according to this final league table) how the hell would we have gone through as group winners,as they would be 1 goal worse off and us ONLY one goal better off :

Played Goal Difference Points
View full table
1 Bayern Munich 6 12 15
2 Man City 6 8 15
3 Viktoria Plzen 6 -11 3
4 CSKA Moscow 6 -9 3

Some fucker clear this up for me please !!!!!!
It's head to head results, not goal difference.

...I think.
It is head to head in the CL when teams finish level. Therefore if City had won 4-2 tonight, it would have matched Bayern's two goal win at the Etihad. However, because we would have scored 4, it would have bettered Bayern's 3 at our place. Fairly simple really, though maybe not for our management team!

:-(

Damage limitation first mate :). Who would of thought a team containing the usual scapegoats could get an away victory against the reigning European Champions?

Sorry, but it's not weird or strange. He said that members of the coaching staff should be sacked for the mistake (if one was made, which i've not seen enough of the press stuff to comment on).

That's ridiculous, isn't it. His/her rapid row back from that starting position speaks volumes

All the other stuff about we should be better prepared, etc, I can live with. But sacking the people partly responsible for an excellent result?

TBF tho, this is the internet and I may be taking this too seriously :)

Milnee has since confirmed they didn't know. I'm with Lucky Toma.
