Did you celebrate? (vs Spurs pg21)

From now on even the most 'obvious' goals will probably not be celebrated as before. Understand the concept but it's killed some (all?) of the spontaneous magic

I’ll never celebrate a goal ever again like I did v spurs in the chumps leagues. I kissed 3 fat dirty Mancs and jumped on their back for around 2 minutes!!!! I can honestly say that will never happen again. I didn’t ‘properly’ celebrate one goal on Saturday or the ones in the cup final. Or v the cult in the community shield. It was a ‘nice’ feeling when it’s proved it’s ok, but certainly not an ‘elated’ one. It’s gone for me I’m afraid and that’s really sad. Can’t see how it’ll improve. Suppose I’ll have to get used to it or stop watching - which ain’t going to happen no matter how often I say it is

You cannot honestly tell me you celebrate when it goes in to the same level as before we had VAR?

I’ve always been one to look straight at the officials to see if a flags up or the ref is pointing to the centre spot but you know right away because you can just look at them.

This is turd now.

Thing is When Im at the games Im that engrossed in the game when the ball end up in the opponents net I celebrate am not one for looking around and chatting or whip out my ipad!

So Yes I will celebrate twice.

It’s not about whipping out your iPad or looking around chatting, in fact that has nothing to do with it. When the ball hits the net, and yes I go to games too, I pause now knowing it’s being checked.

It kills the joy of knowing for definite that we’ve scored.

And the thing is, thousands of people will be thinking this. It’ll have an effect on crowds over the coming years.

Life is tough, we’re in work all week, we have our social problems too and we all need that something to give us some elation in life and to de-stress. For football fans it was that emotion of the ball hitting the net. There’s never been anything better than going bananas when the ball hits the net. The pure exhilarated feeling you get inside. Nothing else in life makes you go so wild. You don’t celebrate at the front of the church [or wherever] when you get married or in the delivery room when your kids are born, like you do when your team scores a goal.

And especially the big goals (Dickov, Agüero, Kompany), the big goals where you lose yourself, we’ve all had it when we’ve ended up three rows in front of where our seat is because we’ve gone fucking mental with a goal being scored. Those goals are better than sex and are moments that will live with us until our dying day.

But now, it’s over!

Nobody is ever going to celebrate in the same way again. The ball will hit the net - and if it’s not already done it, a few more VAR interrupted celebration will get the rest of you at some point - and the first thought won’t be “YYEESS!!”, it’ll be “wonder if that’ll be disallowed?!”

I’m gutted. Absolutely gutted!
This.

Yeah there is fans around me who do that! I celebrate and I look a fool when its not a goal so fcking WHAT!!

I was at the game and celebrated the goal like it was a last minute title winner. You can imagine the deflation around the stadium.
We're lucky we had Vinny's goal against Leicester to be a replacement highlight for the season.
I was there for *THAT* goal and i dont think anything would ever top that but if i was there for the Sterling goal or Kompany goal i think it would have been very close.
