You seem to think United had a bad season. I think they had a very decent season given that they have no coach and they played with Brandon Williams, Lindelof and McTominay (most of the season). Europa League semi-finals and 4th place is a miracle with their starting eleven.
They have a spent a £1bn and don't look like winning anytime soon. Even Scholes has said they should spend more ffs.
That's exactly my point. Given the awful squad they have, I think this season was a miracle. They overpay every single time and rarely nail their signings.
I don't think he has to be honest. Everyone was luke warm about City signing him last season and even though we have struggled defensively, I don't rate him as a world class cenre-back however I do think he is a strong defender who has improved Man Utd defensively and he's also a good captain. I don't think that many people pretend that he's their new Rio Ferdinand who was a player.Maguire has been is ridicuolsly over hyped, even when he was inked with us

I think almost everyone agreed last season it was too steep a price to pay but he would have improved City significantly this season. We'd probably have won the FA Cup and still have been in the CL but who knows. If we end up with Koulibaly, or AN other it might yet have been the right move. Perhaps financially we couldn't do it anyway?£80m is a hell of a steep price for an average (at best) defender. More ridiculous mistakes are starting to creep into his game throughout season already.

I really like Koulibaly but... I don't think he'll be a leader for us. He'll be a new player, who never played the PL (only played Ligue 1 and Serie A) and who probably doesn't even speak english (fluently).
